Seeing your posts, Barty, it will probably look even better when you fix it.
Too bad about it, glad you are Ok. Pictures of "Before-After" when it is fixed will be welcomed.

Ok, posted before reading the rest of the topic. You are already half way there

Grannyknot, I really appreciate seeing you fix and make things right. I have the urge to do exactly this sort of thing, and much of the time I do, while other times it's not quite possible. It's the difference between a car that's serviced by numbers and and one that's really cared for.

Thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir, that's always nice hear, I have a build thread on the other Z4 forum where over the past year I have replaced every bushing, bearing, gasket, seal or wearable part with new, https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1910373

Thanks for letting us know , I'll be having a good look through it. Lovely colour BTW

(Still working towards my Z4 coupe so nothing to report yet unless anyone has a Montego blue they are thinking of selling in the new year  )

Thanks, yeah really happy with these two additions, the steering wheel cover is a Mewant model and purchased via eBay. The Ramair kit I bought online direct from their own site and was a bargain at £72 delivered.

Unfortunately while repairing the wing, I went through the paint during the final corrective stages. The panel has been resprayed before, and it’s always a risk. Paint thickness measurements beforehand suggested plenty of material to work with (starting at 120 micron before sanding, failing at 106…). Such is life, so:

Tore down the side and dropped the panel off for a respray with the rear bumper. Should all be back in order next week, and this does allow me to tackle some early-phase rust problems on the wing. We’ll be back!

Gave mine a wash n wax this afternoon, been out driving around quite a lot the last 2 weeks in the sun and he was covered in salty stuff. Looks much happier now, poor thing.

Love the Ramair Kit for the four pot. Been trying to find a six pot for my 2.5Si 2007 for a price like yours (some hope?!). Can anyone help me find one for this for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance. Scott :?

Hi, this is my kit (as imaged above), does this not fit your model? https://ramair-filters.co.uk/mfn-131-enclosed-nero-cold-air-induction-kit-for-bmw-e46-z4-2-5i-192bhp/

I think it’s time,
This is what 19 years and 85,000 British miles do to our cars.

Replace the oil filter housing gasket no more dripping on the garage floor , old gasket was so brittle almost like plastic. Gasket and 2 washers cost £10 and took me 6 hours in the garage .
lots to strip off before you can get to the gasket but not a difficult job

Sneaking in to the 85&86 posts with a cheeky 89 update… those lovely guys at Royal Steering Wheels have matched me a gear lever gaiter to the retrimmed ‘wheel. Fitted. Love it :driving:

New addition to garage /workshop
That looks a belter ! Very nice. Twin cylinder, 100ltr  My WolfAir is 100ltr but single cylinder. Wouldn't be without it. One of, if not THE most useful and versatile workshop tool.
