Sent the ARB for powder coating and removed the gearbox mounting brackets sent for a light blasting.
Cleaned the idle Valve as the air box is still off.
Cleaned the throttle bodies.
Started making a carbon blank for the centre heating vent so I can put some gauges in there, fitted the oil pipe for the oil pressure gauge.
Corrected the 2 valve clearances that where out of tolerance
Removed the air pump bracket for powder coating next week
Put some oil in the engine.
Topped up the coolant (water pump has been out)

Umm.... interesting, mine was first registered on 31 March 2004, pre delivery inspection at BMW in Thorne, Doncaster on 25 March. The plate under the bonnet says July 2003 as the build date though :?. Perhaps a showroom model or stuck outside in a field with many othersMr Tidy said:

Mine was RK04 WUP and was registered on 5 March 2004, but I don't know the build date. The previous keeper on my V5 was BMW GB Ltd and the number plates had BMW GB on them. And if you took a flash photo you couldn't read the plates, they just glowed! May have saved me some points over the 3 years I had it. :lol:
:lol: I bet BMW GB Ltd knew about those plates for a reason too :evil: . My Zed is RK04 VTT. I don't know anything about the early history except what's in the service book. First service was in Bristol, next is unreadable then Stockton on TeesMr Tidy said:

Fitted my new (to me) front bumper; after a year of driving around with a bashed up, badly rattle-canned front bumper I finally have something that's almost show-room fresh again. I really do like how easy it is to unbolt and bolt on new panels on the Z4. Was a pretty straight forward job to swap over the bumper, fogs and piping for the washers.
Only annoyance was I totally forgot that the under tray slides in above the bottom lip of the bumper. Had to unbolt the under tray (no way I was taking the bumper back off) and shimmy it back into the place, all with the grand total of about 10 inches of ground clearance; it took me as long to get the under tray screwed back on as it did to change my bumper!

Can't beat an RK04 plate eh! Yours looks a beaut too. I'm only the 2nd owner and pretty sure it was first registered in Southampton
