Had oil service and alignment done . Alignment took nearly 3 hours as it was WAY out. :gmb:

Built and fitted this gorgeous heat shield for my cold air intake. Wrapped in gold thermal insulation and have seen my mpg go up by 5! (From 22mpg to 27.4mpg) Waiting for a longer trip to see how far up it'll actually go. This is the highest it's ever been since I've had the car (2 years).

I took the opportunity to polish the black dash and console trim while the car was apart

It’s not ‘real’ piano black - it’s the aluminium that has been repainted gloss black

I just gave it a quick go over with the same polish and wax that I use on the exterior of the car

It was just a very light go-over to remove finger prints of mechanics who recently did some work for me

Removed the wheels and cleaned them. Found the tar and bug remover was also good at removing the paint on the barrels :x . Will have to be more careful using it in future. Also cleaned the headliner after finally getting tired of looking at the previous owner's grubby finger marks all over it.

So after a year of ownership, the days getting longer and warmer, it was time for the triple spruce - clay bar, polish and wax, all courtesy of Meguiar's

Clay bar from the bonnet area - car sure was grubby!

Fitted a Crosstour Dashcam and wired a rear camera to the back. Found a new route which was easy and now happy

Picked up car from aduio installer. Aftermarket BT interface fitted, phone, contacts, SMS, A2DB etc, all through iDrive and steering wheel controls. Doesn't look like it can show track info but if that's the worst problem I'll take it as a win.
