What have you done to your car today?

Gave the car a quick tickle with a noodle and noticed this in a two month old tyre......

Pulled it out and my wallet groaned as I heard the hissing noise. Pushed it back in and the hissing stopped. I suppose at least I found it on the driveway and not whilst pressing on in third or fourth. Had to be a more costly rear though! :headbang:

Proof you can fit a dead body in the boot of a Z4.
You probably should remove that sheet in case you ever get pulled over and they want to check the boot...

Took her out for a look at the countryside. 100 miles of twisty roads. :driving:
May be the last romp on the old RF tires. Awaiting Pilot 4s this week. :dance2:
A pic from the ride in San Diego north county

Also SORN'd mine today. Been a fun first few months with the Coupe: looking forward to replacing the suspension over winter and doing a small list of jobs before putting some proper miles on it next year.

Fitted a Gap-tech.
You'll wonder why they didn't come with this functionality from the factory. Great piece of kit, shame the equivalent on the E89 is so damn expensive. :x
One piece of advice re the Gaptech: wire it in securely, don't use those cheap 'scotchlok' or crimp connectors. There was a thread on here a while back about them. Poor connections plus vibrations equals roof not opening/closing etc. I would say solder the wires, but apparently solder cracks as well, and there are very good connectors out there if you know what to look for. Personally I've never had problems with solder and heat shrink but it's your call.

Opened the garage door to check it was still there, having only had it for three days. Smiled and closed the garage door and went to work. :D

Ordered Bilstein OE shocks and struts. I'm replacing 60k mile originals.
Also fitting Michelin Pilot 4s tires. I hope for a nice improvement :)

Fitted a twin USB charging socket with a voltage display built in where the cigarette lighter used to be. Have fitted a switch to the circuit so the LED display does not drain the battery when left for a week or so this will be fitted in the removalle panel just in front of and above the heated seat switches so out of view along with a couple more USB sockets

Built and fitted this gorgeous heat shield for my cold air intake. Wrapped in gold thermal insulation and have seen my mpg go up by 5! (From 22mpg to 27.4mpg) Waiting for a longer trip to see how far up it'll actually go. This is the highest it's ever been since I've had the car (2 years).

Good man! I've done the same to my E86, all you need now is some right angle cables to maintain the lid closed while charging whatever you need. I've left my car for over two weeks parked and the battery voltage remained the same.
