What have you done to your car today?

Bit better...20180226_154950.jpg

Ceramic sealed the wheels and painted the front calipers. Got some new M wheel badges on order too.

Nice ! A fine looking wheel

First time I've ever bothered to get wheels refurbed, to be honest! Still need to seal the rear 2 and paint rear calipers and brake hubs, had enough of sitting out in the cold after washing the car and doing the front wheels!

Was going over to my mother's - sun was shining so decided to take my Z4!

Had a little "play" with an S2000 on the way home - didn't realise they were quite that quick! :o

He offered to do one panel for free and the whole car might be $300 - 350 if I like the first panel work.
That's dirt cheap so I dread to think what you paid the other bloke.

It's worth doing once and getting it done well. There's only so much lacquer to play with and a poor job could easily take off more than required.

The other company was $225 including interior. I figured I'd need to spend about $400 at least . This other guy, the Physicist, is basically having fun and keeping busy, he does lots of work on Porsches , Lambos and other exotics, (I'm surprised at how many are on this island, there's some serious money hiding in garages here) and it would probably end up being closer to $450 or $500.

I got the space heater fired up in the workshop and finally got around to properly sorting out the cloudy headlights, particularly on the tops. The Holts kit I bought months ago comes complete with grades of pad, a small flatting disc for the drill, cloths, polish and UV protective spray. All went well except the 800 and 1000 grades weren't necessary and made a long job of the first lens. I went straight in with 1500, then 3000 then polish on the other which was plenty and took a quarter of the time. Very satisfying :)

Neglected her for the 5th day in a row.

Very unusual that she's not been out to play for so long, and she's looking forlorn in the garage.

Might take her out Thurs to de-stress myself..

You need to purchase my facelift drivers side air vent, to complement that cupholder :P

Got the snow off it - then used my daily as it's on winters!

Installed aftermarket amp and sub...

I had the puny 6 speaker system, so I tapped into the head unit outputs (all standard wires still intact, I tapped into my IPod integration loom) and fed them through to the rear of the car into the high-input of an old amp I had lying around. The sub box used to be in my old car and was slightly cut down to fit in the Z4.

If anyone is interested I’ll try to post up a thread detailing what I did and what plans I have for future upgrades a bit later

Not even enough space in there for a weekend away!
Couldn't you have fitted a sub behind thereat cubby holes?

Plenty of space in there. That front area is large enough for 3 of those reusable shopping bags.

Nice install mate, looks really tidy.

There’s still plenty of space... I can fit 2 small suitcases (which were used for 2 international travel for 2 people for longer than a weekend) and a small sports bag in the remaining space, and it’s still not quite full

The storage bins behind the seats will be used for a later stage of the installation upgrade

15mm spacers in the front I stalled at the weekend :)
