What did you do to your Z4 today?

Washed and waxed my zed today ready for the drive down to Duxford tomorrow.
I won't be joining you forum members tomorrow as I'll be parking up in the public car park Because I'm leaving mid afternoon to get home for my dogs. :driving:

Changed number plates from YK10 ***
Now wondering how long it'll take the wife to notice...her powers of observation aren't great.....in & out of car all day in Perth....... nothing :roll:

Washed all the crap off putting a few miles on last week, noticed one of the rears were looking slightly deflated, removed the wheel to inspect and found a screw right through. Need to order new rear tyre(s) now, expensive month after just purchasing a new set of Bayern Spartans. :roll:

Gave the Zed a full machine polish with Auto Finesse three stage kit I have. It was getting dark by the time I finished so planned to wax it this morning. Looked out the window and it's peeing down :headbang:
 
Spot of cleaning on the Coupe. Quick run over with a quick detailer. I then treated the wing mirror surrounds, whippy, front license plate surround, scuttle panel, window trim etc. with Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer. It all came up looking new! Impressive stuff.
 
Service wash, well yesterday actually. Now about to take a load of garage-hogging debris to the local tip. Oh the glamour...

I've had a busy morning outside tackling some blobs which had mysteriousky appeared on my door and sill. Not sure how or when they got there, but they looked to have been caused by paint thinner or some other type of solvent been splashed on to the paint work :headbang:

I decided to use wet and dry 1500 and 2000 grit paper, finished off with a machine polish using a light cutting pad with Maguires swirl remover and finished with a polishing pad using Dodo Juice Lime polish. First time I have tackled anything like this, and was really worried I might go through the clear coat, so gently does it. If you look really hard and with the right light you can still see where the spots were as thete are a sightly darker colour to the rest of the paintwork. A hundred times better than before as they were really noticable from a far. Total job took just over 1 hour :D

added sound deadening to the drivers door and changed the seal on one of the rear lights

Removed the roof, extracted the motor from its housing, and relocated the motor into the boot. Now just need to see if I can find someone wrecking a Z4 and score the removeable floor (that covers the battery). I thought I could use it to make up a panel to cover the motor.
Also added a config file to my Dension Gateway 300 to increase the volume, it's set too low from factory, but now matches the radio output much closer (and has a higher max volume).
Reset window 'one touch' close function after battery had been disconnected to remove the roof. Amazing how many different instructions there are out there to do this (most don't work for me, or are just instructions to initialize the windows - not the same thing). Found one that worked and printed it out for future reference.

Strange one that Swiftly, maybe some that was spilt on the road just as you happened to arrive there? Bad luck if it was. :thumbsdown:

Good work removing it though and a great finish, saved yourself a fair bill at a detailers. :thumbsup:

Drove it 70 miles, then took a deposit on it! :?

Battle of head v heart - former seems to have won! :cry:

Well that was last week before my heart kicked back in, so on Thursday I went and put a deposit on my next Z4 - phew, quick recovery! :D Especially important as the buyer collected it today!

Update to follow after I collect the next one on Tuesday!
