What did you do to your Z4 today?

Sold it, brilliant car had no issues at all with my 55 reg Z4, done 18000 miles and all its cost me in 3 years is a set of tyres and a service but decided to go for a change bought a BMW 1 series 118i M Sport convertible. :D

Took the wheel off so I can get the tyre replaced tomorrow, now it's arrived. :D Happily not a cloud in the sky. So the Zed will be dry on the drive tonight 8) . Unhappily I can't jump in and go for a drive.

Changed the side lights (hamburgers) to some cut down ones. It's a huge improvement.

Washed it, scrubbed the roof and then went over the car with some sonax

Car now covered over to keep it clean for a week.

Drove home from work at 6:25am with the roof down. Workmates think I'm crazy. They clearly haven't experienced it before.

Retro fitted wind deflector what a difference it's made Mrs Rally is very pleased
Used this guide to drill the hoops so only removed the rears for the inserts.

I purchased the deflector and fitting kit secondhand but brought the inserts new from BMW

It's been a busy day I also fitted a clear third brake light it looks so much cleaner very pleased.

Friday I had a day off, so I FINALLY was able to give the car the detail it's been crying out for since I bought it in 2014! Full decontamination, Iron X, pre wash, clay, tar remover, rinse down, Polish and then finally wax. And then dress the black trim and the wheels. I still need to spend some time properly cleaning and sealing the wheels, and polishing the glass but I'm so chuffed with how the paint has come up :D

And then yesterday I had one of those very special drives down to Goodwood. Not often I end up laughing out loud at how much fun a car can be but crikey we are a lucky bunch to own these cars - the driving proposition a well sorted z4 can offer is right up there in my opinion!

Cleaned and proofed the soft top, well overdue!!!

I also gave the car a quick wash and hoovered the interior. Don't know why I bothered really, it'll rain tomorrow, according to the weather report.

Drove it for miles and miles around Kent , what else is there to do with it on a day like today ?

Absolutely nothing except for look at it.

Gave it it's first proper snowfoam yesterday and then good claying over. Supposed to be polishing/sealing today but others things cropped up....Took the family for a day out in Scarborough...

Got it nice and sideways out of a junction

8) made me chuckle :D
Funny you should mention that. I was trying to turn right out of an intersection. View was blocked by cars parked on the side of the road. Thought there was a big gap and edged out. There was actually a WRX heading for me (not speeding, but the sight of that letterbox on the the bonnet is often a good clue that the driver won't be under the limit. Stereotyping, I know, but often true...). I put the foot down about half way and the Z4 got a bit sideways around the turn. Scared me a bit, but I think the DSC/Traction Control sorted it before I really had time to react. All I can think of was there was something on the road surface as I've driven with that much throttle before without any problems.

drove from Carlisle to Lancaster via Shap Fell, 1200 plus feet up, glorious, sunshine, roof down of course

no pics didn't stop

wonderful - why drive them grotty M6 on a day like today?

Just looked it it, admiring the way the light covering of pollen went yellow in the rain, and feeling really glad I'd washed it the other day. :headbang: :headbang:

Nothing done yet technically, but took advantage of a 20% EuroCarParts discount code and ordered the below for £65. Going to do an interim oil service on the Coupe. Last had an oil service June 2015...nearly a year so why not!

2x4litres Castrol Engine Oil (Edge 0W-30 With Titanium FST Fully Synthetic 4Ltr)

1x Mann Oil Filter

1x copper sump plug washer

Not bad for £65, right?
