What can I ride\drive with no license...?

Omg that is awful, feel for you, could happen to any of us. Have you put feelers out around your neighbours just in case one of them goes the same way as you. You could pay towards the fuel maybe. Also It may sound daft but have you thought about moving short term into the workshop and going home at weekends. If the transit is there it could make a nice comfy den with a little effort. I’m not taking the p*ss, it might work. Anyway good luck and I hope you can work something out.

So a year not driving confirmed this morning, if I have another black out it's a year from then again. Getting some tests so hopefully we can do something about it. I'm gutted and it's totally screwded me up work wise but I'll get something sorted, crying isn't going to get it done is it....

Anybody wnnna transit custom and 4 Zeds....??

A workmate had this a few years back, a Gas Engineer, passing out/Blackouts, and they got to the root of it after a while.

Sorry to hear about that John.
Try and keep your chin up, I know it's not easy, with other things going on in recent years, but best wishes and here's hoping they get some answers for you soon, oland a positive outcome.
Take care

Let me guess; he was inhaling the product? :D

No, nothing to do with his job, as far as I can remember.
It was quite serious, as he had passed out at the wheel twice, and nearly ran into a car once.
Thankfully they sorted it out, and he drove again, and has been since.

It'll be fine at some point....just not got to kill anyone in anger in the meantime....

Chris-D.....you on....?

I would add myself to the list of people who have recommended e-bike but with the twist that some come from the factory or can be tweaked to go faster than 15.5mph...
I myself have been an early adopter of e-scooters and used to do my 5 miles commute with one which managed to get to 20mph after a simple software flash despite not being a crazy powerful and expensive one. I could still put it in eco mode and have it limited to 6mph in case someone wanted to check it. Managed to get more than 2000km on the odo until Covid and work from home hit :D

I expect that a 750+ watts bike can manage 30mph and should make your commute pretty easy. You probably don't need to get a huge battery either if you can plug during the day as well as night

John-e89, You posted earlier (Only issue there is for some daft reason which i don't understand the good woman quite likes me at home....). So any chance she drives and can drop and pick you up every day? If she works too maybe drop you off early?

Get yourself an apprentice with a driving license!

Condition of employment is to pick you up, make the tea and do the monkey work. Pay their fuel, show them the ropes and it’s win win!

There’s something in that !
Buy a small van, tax deductible, employment grant?
Feet up in the office answering the phone doing a bit of paper shuffling while the hired hand gets on with it

John’s wife can apply for the apprenticeship. All the cars get a run, John gets a lift and everyone is happy.

Well, perhaps his wife might not be … :?

LOL.
John, let's face it; you're in no fit state to be killing anything at the moment, except maybe time.

You may find it surprisingly sentimental of me to say that I was actually thinking of you and your predicament this morning while I gazed out over the misty vista of Hamburg harbour whereupon my early morning constitutional was rudely interrupted by the 'put-put-put-kof-put' sound of an old GDR Trabant. They hire them out to tourists here for some god-awful reason. But I was then reminded of something that maybe you could look into as a new mode of transport:

Johns new mode of transport.jpg

I don't know if it would be considered safe enough for you though as apparently they can reach a dizzying 55mph! Take a look at HubNut's youtube channel for tips and tricks.
Failing that, did you think about applying for invalidity benefit? You may be able to source an obliging care-worker to taxi you around, maybe in the zed. I've never seen a zed with an invalidity sticker in the window, have you?

OK, that's enough of the wind-upery, the following is actually a genuinely serious suggestion (shock horror)...

Have you thought about an e-assisted recumbent?
I go gravel-riding in the Veluwe with a mate who has one of these:
e-fat tad.jpg

He imported it from the US at no short expense but enjoys it massively and it does what it says on the tin.
Have a butchers here if of any interest:
https://www.sunseeker.bike/index.php/products/efat-tad/

I also have another Dutch mate who has a quatrovelo. Leaves me standing on my roadbike.
CAn't imagine riding one of these on UK roads though.

Right sentiment there la.

Alas for UK, with no licence, it needs to be no more that 250watt motor and limited to 15.5 mph on motor power.

I actually knew someone who was killed on one of those. 4x4 driver didn't see him (too low apparently); ran straight over him. God awful mess by all accounts :o

I was going to say, after you've been run over in your quatrovelo, they can can bury you in it as well.
