What are you going for next?

Been looking around at possible replacements for the coup and I can't seem to see any suitable replacements without spending 60K+. The only car out there at the moment is the new M3 which seems to have dropped a fair whack.

So what are you going to replace yours with?

In all honesty?

Something more sensible. It will depress me big time. But I don't need a car like this anymore and for me, the government have beaten me.

I'd love to keep the M but given the mileage I do (very small), the costs of ownership is just too great. I might as well go in the garage and set fire to a pile of ten pound notes.

But I'll enjoy it while it lasts (minimum of another 9 months, maximum 18). Although my decision will also be based on something I hope to do within 18 months work wise (this time next tear Rodney...)

I don't plan to replace mine, but I would like to get a daily driver, so I don't keep piling miles on the M. Thanks to the gas price crunch, there are some great deals on the E60 5-series, so I might pick up one of those this winter. I also like the E46 sedan (really, I should have just kept mine when I bought the coupe).

But highly doubtful. I'm still in love with my Emma Coupé. :sweetheart: :driving:

Dude Bellevue Nissan has a couple that are still not spoken for. Only $25K above MSRP.

They won't get the cars in for another month or two. Assuming the cars won't be pre-sold by the time they come in, we probably have to show up in a Gallardo or at least a 997S to be granted a test-drive. :?

Well, I guess we'll have to hit Barrier first to pick up our 997S test cars. Nissan won't know that it's not ours. :P

Holy sheit you're genius!!!

Let's be honest, a 2 year old Z4M with a full spec can be yours for £25k with low mileage etc etc. It has to be the performance bargain of the year! If you own one replacing it with anything comparable is going to be very expensive

Must admit, I run 2 cars a tatty C2 for work and the 'M' used mostly at weekends and not at all November to February. Have been thinking about replacing both with one car.

However, I absolutely love the 'M' so it's replacement has to be good fun to drive, look good and be reasonably quick. To use it for work it has to be reasonably economical and easy to get in and out of as I drive about visiting places alot.

So far, the only contender is a Mini Cooper S, possibly a JCW as that seems to hit most of the above requirements. I would save about £1,000 a year in tax and insurance alone.

My daughter has just purchased a Cooper S (facelift) with JCW kit (all black with part red leather interior) and should take delivery this weekend or next depending on the dealer doing his job . I'll post pics and tell you what it's like as soon as I can steal the keys off her....

I am not in the least bit jealous of her owning such in her low 20's :x

Guys say it isn't so....say it isn't so...you both seem to smart?????

Go for it. It was stunning! :driving:
The Challenger SRT is not in the same grouping, but with the economy being as it is, the dealer here has had one for over a month with a $16,000.00 dealer markup. It is still sitting on the lot as well as plenty of Solstice's across the street at the Pontiac dealership and the Ford dealership next door to that is invoicing Mustang GT's. The times they are a changing for dealer markups and the future automotive industry.

I guess it depends on whether or not I make any money when I sell my condo later this year...If I do, I'll probably get some sort of SUV for the wife. If not, than some sort of used SUV for the wife.

Either way I'm keeping my M Coupe.

I've just ordered a JCW that's arriving week 37. Very high spec with sports suspension, so if you're interested I'll post up some (honest) opinions when I've thrashed it in.

I think they would have to pry my cold dead hands off this car. I don't think it will ever go anywhere unless its connected to my rear end. In one year I've managed 32,000 mi. And It still laughs at my feeble attempts to drive it as intended.

Although I will admit my 'sensible' half has led me to test drive the V8 M3 Sedan, E60 M5, a classic E36 M3 as well as the new Audi S5.

I really don't like the new M3, maybe if I was coming from and E46 M3, but it didn't feel like an M until you pressed more buttons than I have fingers to get it all setup.

The M5 probably has the same if not more settings, but being able to get a NA V10 that revs past 8,000 rpm, that's a keeper...I don't foresee an engine like this coming around again, they've gone turbo happy at BMW and its infecting the M-division. I'm a fan of pure NA.

The new S5 is beautiful.

BUt I still might go for an E36

Jason,

test driving one on Friday so it will be interesting to see how good it is. Got some good reviews but I don't honestly see me swapping the 'M' as it's such a awesome car. But, we shall see.

Sorry to hear that, got to wonder if this isn't the last time we all get to drive performance cars before they become extinct.

Wow, go for it. No chance for me here, they're going to be too expensive to run
