What are the options?

"Follow me home" they are called.

Flash the headlights once you are parked and the headlight stay on for 15 seconds or so. Great on dark nights when you park on someone else's drive.

Always get the "oh, you left your lights on" comment. Counting down and turning around slowly ... "really? Can't see it ... " :D

Have to try that

Yeah I'm all over this! Can't wait to try :-)

haha.. I'm glad to see people who've owned the car for some time still aren't sure about it either! lol

thanks for all the input so far - do you know if you can get a print out of what your car actually has (or is that normally part of the service / purchase paperwork, as I have all that, but it's a monster of a pile! lol)

From what CJ has said in the past Sport suspension isnt standard on pre facelift 3.0i's

Don't remember saying that? Not true anyway as ///M sport IS standard on the pre facelift 3.0i

Best way to be sure of the options is to look in the appropriate year sales brochure. The rest of comments about different years and coupe, etc, confuse as there are a myriad of variations.

Indeed, so do I and I also had a prefacelift 3.0 prior to my M so know exactly what was standard and what was not.

CJ- ignore srhutch, he is full of drugs :D

I still have the pre facelift Z4 brochure, and can confirm that sports suspension was standard on 3.0i.

I dont perhaps suppose you have an electronic version (or could point me to one) or a scanned copy do you?

If you’re looking for a UK 3.0, you pretty much couldn’t order one for months prior to the facelift car in March 2006 (that due to emissions legislation), so from mid-2005 onwards there are hardly any cars, and I’ve only ever seen a few 55 plate (Sep05-Feb06) ones.

I have a 55 reg :-D

So before this thread I didnt realise I had rain sensors or 'guides me homes', now I'm also part of an Elite Z4 55 reg driving squadron!!

that's what you said right?

Tired,

Just noticed your signature. Do you have a white leather interior? Do you mean white, or light or cream? Sorry to go off on a tangent.

Also, am I right in thinking that if you turn the wiper speed dial maximum either way, and you have rain sensor wipers, they will be activated? I know about the 'leave keys in and pull light stalk' to keep on for 30 secs or so. Any other tips smart people want to share.? I hate having a car and not knowing about all these little gadgets and extras!

Cheers

The wipers have several settings...

Off
Auto - twirling the adjuster on the stalk will adjust the sensitivity.
On
and On Fast (Ithink)

Also if left in the Auto position and not used since starting the car you have to activate either by moving the stalk or moving the adjuster.

from the Off position knock the stalk down once for a quick wipe

Arsing around / experimenting with this on the way home last night almost saw more in the Shiplake College bowling nets! Think I should wait for some propper rain and try again. Oh, and maybe park up!

I think it's called ivory white. If anyone gets in the passenger side, I frisk them for leaky pens or chocolate first...

These two pics were taken a few days after I had it.

(I was sad enough to tape on my new number plate for the picture as I couldnt legally put it on yet :P )

Not sure about the wiper, I only tried it yesterday.

Erm. You can hold the unlock button on your car for 3 seconds and it opens the window as you open the door to help you get in and out. Hold for 10 to start the roof. (i reckon you knew that though)

Anyone else know any tricks?

Yep there were hardly any

Weird, it's called Pearl grey but was only available as a half-leather interior until the facelift, so maybe someone has swapped out the seats from a facelift car at some point. Be interesting to see what colour the dealer thinks your seats are if you give them the VIN.

Maybe I'm wrong, anyone else :idunno:

Ah. On the advert, they were listed as ivory white. I didnt question this as the seats were white :)

I very much doubt the chairs have been swapped over as you'd have to mess around with the doors etc. Besides, they're not sport seats or heated. So why would you bother!?

Hmmm interesting I'll find a pic of the ones I mean.
