The negativity and fact that this thread even exists is a testament to the kind of behaviour mods are happy to have on here. It does put me off, but the 'normal' and decent members somewhat neutralise the negative gremlins that scour around the forums :)

The mods on this forum are excellent and do a great job. They treat us like adults and don't nanny the forum taking the view that there will be disagreements and arguments but mostly us grown ups are able to sort it ourselves (or not). They step in when necessary.
This is one of the reasons it's a great forum and a lot of ex zed members stick around.

+ 1 for this.... Which is why i still partake in this forum being an ex owner!
x2 :)

I was going to laugh, but do we call E30 M3 owners or Porsche 964 owners arsewipes for selling cars for more than they were new!?

Market forces dictate prices - if you don't want to buy it, then don't. If no one bought it then the price would naturally go down.

Perhaps the only point you have is that it's not clear you need both items if you are a newbie. That could be seen as a bit naughty.

However, that is easy to express without personal insults and so I think it's wrong the mods don't give you a slap on the wrist for that

You don't need both items though - the covers are cosmetic, not functional. Not one of the three hardtops I've owned have come with the covers.

Never said you did. However, your definition of need may be different to others.
Some people probably wouldn't be happy with the inner workings being exposed inside their otherwise luxury interior, especially when it's obvious once you've got a hardtop that something should actually be covering those exposures as standard.

Doesn't justify the title and calling the guy and arsehole. Sorry- not appropriate.

I recalled that, instead calling him a 'bloodsucking pikey'

PS although I still think he's an asswipe...

You having a "lux" moment there, Mr R?

Not at all Mark! I Just have that need to pipe up when I feel something isn't right

Hows the hardtop hoist, you fitted it yet?

Sure have, its been perfect thanks. Am now looking at how to "electrify" it, as I've used a drill (worked great) but need more control. Being a bit of a lazy bugger though ;)

Hey, back on topic, was wondering if the "key" sold separately as well?

I think the chap (asswipe) also attempted to remove the heating element from the hardtop glass

PS good to hear about the hoist, takes the hassle out of removing it)

I removed the heating element too? Haha Ranski fabricating lies. Hardtop (with heated screen but minus covers) now sold. Boring w@nktard has nothing better to do. Did I remove locks and interior lining too then?

£820 with free bag ain't bad, you really should!

Its cool. I bought my hardtop 'inclusive' of it's side covers, etc etc for £300

Oh, you must have thought I was trying to name and shame you to get a lower price for your stripped down hardtop?

Nope - Just keen to advise any Z4 new folk that certain parts come with the hardtop, namely the side covers

Anyway I think this thread has ran its course. Enjoy your next motor, I hope the seller doesn't charge you extra for the engine :)

Sadly ranski, rather than warn the members about this "bad deal", you've just embarrassed yourself to the whole community and now it's stored on the Internet until it's deleted by the moderators or the forum disappears.

Well done.
