Ranski, no one disagrees with your point - it does look a lot better. Thanks for taking the effort to show the before and after. But what seems to be difficult to get across to you is that there are better ways to articulate your point in a more "friendly" and "community" style. We're all Z owners here after all.

You don't need to call fellow forum members arsewipes and/or arseholes to give a clear explanation as you did above.

You again, you cant let it lay can you, well you certainly have an axe to grind. I am just not sure how much is left? Surely it must be down to the wood by now?

Like I said above, come and have a coffee at a meet with me, we can chat about it, as you appear to be shaken by this episode?

Worth noting as I and many others have said in the above posts - the original, first post was an eBay advert and not a forum post so get your facts right

I've had a coffee with ranski and I can vouch he's a nice fella.... I'd still ban him for his foul potty mouth language though! :stir:

Hahaha! So a classic case of nice in person, p**** behind a PC?

Ranski - it is you who can't let it lay. "To round off markeg's above post and wrap up the thread..." then go into a lovely "FYI..." LMFAO!!!

It is you who has an axe to grind - your initial posts were solely commenting on price, nothing else. Nobody had commented after Markeg, but you couldn't resist could you, you cheeky little scamp!

Like many comments and PM's - if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Didn't your mummy teach you that?! :-)

For what it's worth - one of my hardtops didn't even come with the tool. Maybe the seller sold it separately :-D

I think the fact is the OP is a person sitting behind a screen, just because using casual obscenity to address people might be your thing doesn't mean it's acceptable.

He's selling (or now sold) an item priced at what he deems acceptable and obviously what a buyer found acceptable as well. It's an item in demand.

I think the issue I and other above have is the fact that there's no apology for you addressing another forum member using profanity. After the title whatever you say is irrelevant frankly as you seem to lack common manners.

Seriously, if a stranger calls you an asswipe elsewhere what would you reaction be? Now you might laugh it off but do you expect everyone to have that reaction?

In fairness to Ranski when he started the thread it wasn't known if the seller was a forum member.
Oh, that's okay then. And when he did find out? At least he apologised, right... :tumbleweed:

Hi again....

I guess if I felt so strongly to create a post about shady selling tactics by someone on ebay, gumtree or a forum, then what would change this? a few members on here taking offence?

Moheddine, just to cover your earlier question - To give you an example if we did stubble across at a met and you also were trying the same shady selling tactics, then I would more than happy to say you're being an asswipe, asshole or whatever floats your boat - just being honest, like the seller should have been.

Call me old fashioned, but it's the insults which are the problem. Or maybe the title of the thread. Or maybe the thread being in the for sale section full stop.

After this ranski, I truly hope not to stumble across you at a meet - you don't really sound like the type of company I like to keep.

But when I do eventually sell my hardtop, stand, cover, and locking covers, I will be offering them separately - as this was how I bought them (with proof of purchase for each). Nothing really shady or dishonest about that IMO, just letting you know in advance so you hopefully have some restraint and it doesn't come as a surprise like this episode has for you.

The hex key will be thrown in for free with the roof, you'll be pleased to hear :-D

I'll meet you half way then and apologise in advance, why? As I will apply the same remark to your sale thread...

I just feel sorry for forum members who are having to source bits & pieces which should come as one. Where will this stop? selling alloys separately, or going for the ultimate and selling the Z4 toolkit separately once the Z4 has been sold. Yes, I have seen this on the forum before

Not to the spirit of the forum and its members hey? Wait a minute, should such a remark be coming from me?...

Can someone please delete this thread. I think it's run its course, points have been made and now everyone just needs to have a big hug and move on. It is the weekend after all.

if this thread gets deleted then I have to either A: clean the house or B: change and feed the baby...

I'd rather stay in my office and pretend I am working

That's very sweet of you, but it won't be for a while yet. You never know, you may not be on the forum by then anyway.

I feel sorry for the prices newbies have to pay, but I understand that certain parts (especially at certain times in the year) command a premium.

Parts which are no longer manufactured become rare. Scarcity increases value. Along the way they get lost or damaged.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in case you hadn't noticed, alloys are sometimes sold separately on here and elsewhere. Badges are sold separately to bonnets and wings, tyres sold separately to wheels, door cards sold separately to doors (and door handles), mirror casings sold separately from mirrors (and switch units), steering wheel buttons sold separately from steering wheels - you get the drift. That's the way the cookie crumbles, don't let it get to you or upset you again in the future. Life's too short! :-D

Next stop  http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=81635

Don't start getting any ideas of stripping centre caps and m badges off alloys and selling them separately Andy.

Completely unrelated but thanks Ranski for the pics!

I now know what to look out for when searching for a hard top!

Can I join the Ranski fan club please? Do we get monthly letters or something?
