what an asswipe

Thank you for the interesting read. Nice to see a few more logical minds! To clarify, this is titanium silver (currently on a Space grey Z)!

Sorry but I think thats pretty harsh to be honest, entirely up to the seller what they ask and if you don't like then don't buy. If the seller is out to make a profit then good luck to them. You can always make an offer.

Hardtops and fitting kits do fetch a pretty penny, tops for the Z3 still go for 7 to 900 quid and most will sell the fitting kit sperately which are worth upto 300 quid and can be hard to get hold of.

Tim.

And the German hard tops were €600 new from the limited colour run.
Yep - plus an extra £240 to get it transported to the UK.

Ironically, having bought the hard top and got it shipped here, I've never actually used it and it's sitting unused in my garage. I'll probably sell it with the car (and with the side covers which, having bought them and got them professionally sprayed black, I have also never used...)

If I sell something....I want as much as I can get for it. The buyer wants to pay as little as possible. Somewhere there is a meeting ground. Is the buyer also an A** Wipe or blood sucking pikey for wanting to pay less? If so, pass me the soothing cream for my sore bum!

I think you have the wrong end of the stick here... its the hardtop side covers being discussed, not the soft top side covers which are nothing to do with the hardtop

I think that you may be right.

Unfortunately I'm 4,500 miles away from my car at the moment, so a bit difficult to check whether I have those covers or not, but I'm struggling to figure out exactly where they go...

they go over the gaping hole that exposes the mechanism where you stick the allen key to lock down the hardtop to the car.

Entirely up to the seller on ebay to sell what he likes in whatever separated out manner he chooses.

No different really to breaking a car and selling the parts. I do however understand why people make the comments they do and not a way I'd want to trade.

Market forces will however dictate if it's a good deal or not for buyers and for them to decide if £1,100 for a damaged hardtop is a good deal...

He said £850 to a forum member in the other thread but I think that was without the lock covers he may chime in and prove me wrong though

Provided no-one bids on the covers on eBay prior to a sale agreement I would take £900 for the hardtop and covers  but as usual plenty of interest on these.

Either offer them for sale now at that priceon the forum, or remain on eBay. You can't make conditional sales on the forum.

The hardtop comes with the covers

Besides ' the going rate' £120? You must have more money than sense
Not really, but I wouldn't call any seller an a$$hole just because I disagreed with the amount they decide to sell their goods for! Seems a tad extreme, and as mentioned if you don't like the price don't buy them - but I think they are a fair price IMHO.

You're right, ill withdraw that comment and replace with 'bloodsucking pikey'

Nicely corrected. There worth what ever they sell for at the end of the day.

I don't blame you! Can't believe all the fuss and issue with this.

There is a guy here selling a hardtop with covers for £900.

This is discounted (less money) for forum members than what he has them on eBay.

He has given courtesy by saying he can't sell them at that discounted price if there are bids on eBay (i.e someone non-forum offers a better price before they sell on here).

What is wrong with this?

People always have stuff on here for sale as well as eBay, but I thought this was okay if offering a forum discount? Surely if that item sells on eBay before here then it's a fairly obvious, and permissible, sale condition? Or are we now saying you can't sell on both?

GLWTS, hope the insults and negativity of a few haven't put you off selling or using the forum.

The negativity and fact that this thread even exists is a testament to the kind of behaviour mods are happy to have on here. It does put me off, but the 'normal' and decent members somewhat neutralise the negative gremlins that scour around the forums :)

There's been no threats, no-one's privacy has been broken.. People are entitled to their free speech.
Sometimes it pisses me off, but that's how it works.

Some people think you're an asswipe for selling two items which so obviously should be sold together and relies on the lack of knowledge of a potential buyer not to see your delboy ways.

Some people think you're entitled to do whatever the hell you like with the items you actually own and others should get off their high horse and stop trying to tell you what to do, especially as they a: don't own the items, b: aren't looking to buy said items.

Whatever their opinion, they've got a right to express it.

Personally, I think the mods have done just fine letting this run.

The mods on this forum are excellent and do a great job. They treat us like adults and don't nanny the forum taking the view that there will be disagreements and arguments but mostly us grown ups are able to sort it ourselves (or not). They step in when necessary.
This is one of the reasons it's a great forum and a lot of ex zed members stick around.
