Weather warnings (FFS)

See I like it, I want to be provided with the information, the system is simple, amber, orange and red, it gives you an indication of what to expect, how severe or likely and you can then work around it. For instance if there is an amber warning for snow, I wouldn't worry about the four hour drive to work, I can see where, when and how bad it will be. If it's a red warning for snow, I'd stay at home all cosy, bring some extra logs in for the fire and make sure I've got sufficient provisions. If it just said snow, one snow flake or two, what does that actually mean?

The crux is that I am informed and having information I can make my own decisions, I don't see it as the state nannying, state nannying is a 40 mph speed limits motorways before roadworks or a broken down vehicle or debris which is miles away :poke:

This kinda says it all tbf
It seems like a wee bit of anything and the whole country collapses now, rain... flooding, snow... everything shuts down, wind... stay indoors and save your kids, sun... the whole place is on fire dont you dare turn the tap on.

Amber, orange and red weather warnings, what happened to looking out of the window?
Can't do that anymore; far too dangerous. You may fall out and hurt yourself. At the very least quite a few may get their tongue stuck to the glass.

After the amount of rain we had here last night, if there is even mention of drought or hosepipe bans, I am going to punch someone from the Water Board.

Surely they arent going ahead given the flooding etc that we just had!?

Thames Water just has - even though a lot of flooding has taken place. Wrong type of water probably ...

Having more information is fine, as long as it's balanced and you then make up your own mind.

What we get from the MSM is one sided and told what we must think

Ponders/ Bigwinn, I seen on the news tonight Anglian Water are creating to big ponds in your neck of the woods!

Me? I’m shitting myself in case the body I dumped in a lake gets discovered in the drought

There are a few bodies stuffed in barrels coming to light in the lake next to Las Vegas apparently. :(

They've got an excuse for having drought conditions. Las Vegas is built in a desert! Here, if doesn't rain every other day, there's a feckin water shortage!

Also there is also no such thing as a water shortage. Water doesn't disappear, it can just be in the wrong place at the wrong time for the people that need it at that moment. Good water management is the key IMHO, something (else) we are not good at in this Country. Too many shareholders to pay!

Nice to know that 95-97% of the rainwater has now been deposited into the sea. Anybody had a brilliant idea yet of preventing that from happening? :x
