Water ingress into the boot

Hi,
Can anyone help? Have had the Z4 (2004) for about 6 weeks now, all OK, until Thursday morning, Opened the boot after the heavy rain to find the driver’s side well about an inch deep in water!. The drive slopes left to right and away from the house, so I suppose the water would flow in the direction on the driver’s side and to the back of the car. The water appear to come the top of the boot and towards the front of the boot. Therefore following the forum notes I had a look at the soft-top drains. Or as best as I could. Poke a cable up from below, nothing seemed to be blocked. Poured some water into the softop area (both sides0 and it drained immediately.

Checked the light fitting etc, all seems OK. Any thoughts?

when i first got my zed there was a leak that was allowing water into the bottom right of the boot.

i took the rear light out and found that the seal around the little vent leading from between the panel to the boot had perished. if you put your hand in you can feel the vent, or strip back the carpet and you should see it.

it may not be the same cause for you but i hope it helps a little

Hi,
Thanks the lights loked OK all was dry around them. The water apeared to ber coming in frrom above the wheelarch, so mmy thoughts were to the drains, but they seem ok.

No problem whe I was the car, hose it down etc

There was a tsb on the centre rear tailight - it lets water in. Happened with my si, and even though i was convinced it wasn't the taillight, it never leaked again after it was replaced.......
