Nah, we are discussing E85/E86-after-M, so the E89 falls short for that so we moved on to the Porsche 911 :P

So yes then. OP asks a question, it's answered and then it goes off topic.

OG, a friend's selling one. £85k

Too rich for me Stu unfortunately and i need another 12 months yet because I've got house renovation to do. I'll have a max budget of 55-60k I think so 997.1 or maybe early 997.2
But the RS's will be out of reach I think. Even the 996 GT3RS is higher than that and values of the RS's seem to be heading in the opposite direction I want them to!

Ah well..the debate on why no E89M
seems to have dried up so we are just amusing ourselves wondering what might be!

Not sure if the GT3 is too hard core for me, I have been a passenger in one only and it was rather, uh, basic :)

Try one pvr. If you buy one the X5 is still going to be bearing the brunt of your mileage isn't it? So it will be an occasional toy? I've driven a 996 version and to be honest it was better damped and more comfortable than our M's are. So if you can cope with the Z4MR you'll definitely cope with a 997.2. The 997.2 also comes with the front-lifting axle option as well which is very useful.

Yes, it will only be for the 2k per year I do in the M now. Perhaps I should line up a whole range of them to see what is what :D

i think you should. I reckon if you drive one in anger the decision will be made. I just wish I could afford an RS! I think they are going to appreciate considerably over the next decade.
