WANTED: On the lookout for Z4M aftermarket exhausts

Yep sorry they are from flatout's car.

I can't do video/audio because they are already off the car.

The whole system he had was Supersprint manifold, H&S 100 cell cats, Supersprint X-pipe and manifolds.

I found it was just too loud overall, especially on long journeys - I have several trips to the 'ring and Spa planned. I was also very doubtful of it passing stringent noise tests. I must confess it did sound awesome and incredibly aggressive.

I expect if you have std cats it would be much less loud.

I have temporarily refitted the std X pipe and mufflers, but kept the rest in place.

I believe it would. From what i read they don't have the Supersprint's reputation for rasp but i sure as hell ain't paying full price to buy them new.

Did you only experience it as a full aftermarket system?

That's right - I bought the car with the Supersprint exhaust all in place (the standard parts were included but not fitted).
 
OK, cool. So whatever impressions you have of it aren't going to apply to me if i install only the X pipe and mufflers. I'm interested but only if it doesn't increase the rasp or drone. I'm gonna go on Zpost and ask. I think there's plenty of guys with that system over there.

I would agree - just the X-pipe and mufflers will be quite different from the whole lot. Certainly my first thought was to change just the 100 cell cats - until I saw how much they cost!
 
Sorry for not updating sooner, tertius, i don't think the Supersprint X-Pipe + Race will do for me. After seeing videos and talking with people who have heard them both (the RPI only and Supersprint) they told me that while they drone less than the RPI's they have a bit more rasp and are actually a bit louder! So no good for me i'm afraid. The price is good though and i'm sure you'll have no problem shifting them.

Long shot but do you still have the rpi's, and for sale?

Been on the lookout for a while and close to buying new but..
 
Yep. Have them but sadly still use them! If I ever find something I like to replace them with I'll be posting it here for sure though.
