Getting to a speed where the mosquitos get splashed on your windscreen and not just get a headache when they hit the screen ….

Well JE does prefer it if the bugs bounce off as it means less cleaning

Ive got the Monday off and can possibly be about for you on the Saturday chaps, if you want any mini excursions laid on . (All for the cost of a pint...! )

To be honest, some help planning a route from the M40 down towards Bristol through the Cotswalds would be useful, as I can choose roads (and Perry has already), but I don't know if they will be a crap choice, especially on a Saturday afternoon... And if you want to pitch up too that would be ace :D

First post updated with meeting times at stops to Beaconsfield

Nice lie-in for Ruby and Mike...

Just seen that nice 10am start - thanks  Mike can now get his haircut which is scheduled for 9am that day

Just remember Ruby, you need to be there by 10, not leave home at that time :D

Strange, I've had to explain something similar to Cindy i.e. a 9:15 meet time doesn't mean setting the alarm for 9 and having 2 mugs of tea before heading for the shower

Just so I'm clear, is this for the timing for the Sunday or Saturday meet? Is anyone still planning on going over on Saturday and meeting in Bristol for Sunday morning?

Sorry if I've lost track of the thread here.

This is for Saturday - at least those of that are going down on the Saturday but taking a bit of a detour for a hoon through the Cotswolds on the way :driving:

Its not a road I've travelled myself much but if you want to visit the Cotswolds on route, I'd probably exit the M40 onto the A40 at Wheatley , head West, then pop up onto the A44 through Chipping Norton, to Morton-in-the Marsh (real Cotswold territory), drop down the A429 through Stow-on-the Wold and Bourton on the Water (Picture postcard villages). Rejoin the A40 at Northleach and head over the top of Gloucester and cross the top of the Severn, before picking up the A48, down to your Hotel just past Lydney

Unless anyone else knows better ?

Ok, cool...after my game I'll be leaving Essex about 5pm...so what's the plan for Saturday night? Are people staying in Bristol?

If you're staying at The Milling brook lodge, you wont really want to go back over the bridge to Bristol.
You're out in the Country fellas so will probably have to settle for a good pub and a quiet meal !

Most of us travelling together are staying at a place over the river, but there will be people staying around Bristol I'm sure. Maybe post on the main thread for the meet ?

I'm not sure where Billy and th3odor3 are staying though, maybe they can provide some direction...

From the reviews, the George Inn, the pub attached to Millingbrook Lodge, does nice food and keeps a very good cellar - so we shouldn't have to stagger too far :icb:

That would be my plan. Choose a good meal, find a nice Ale and stay put for the night in The George next door.
