Wading depth

Well I read differently on a newspapers website quoting the AA's advice.

It makes sense to me Carol to drive at absolute snails pace and keep the revs high to minimise any water entering the exhaust, in order to create a bow wave your travelling at a reasonable speed even though you think its quite slow but its still fast enough to risk water entering the engine bay and air intake.

Not blowing my trumpet but I was taught to drive by my dad who was an Advanced Police driving instructor and thats what I was told when driving through standing water i.e. slow as possible, revs high. Wether its right or wrong I wouldn't risk any speed except absolute snails pace for the engines sake.

It was the zed actually and like I said, no damage whatsoever.

That's what I meant, why risk it even more so in a car that will cost a fortune to repair. Will look forward to Porsche bow wave pics

Again, like I said, I had no choice but to go through the water. Wasn't a question of choosing to risk it or not.

Of course there are times when it's unavoidable but from your pic I would say you were travelling too fast risking the car.

Exactly why you see abandoned cars sitting in a few inches of water.

Tim give it a rest. You've previously complained that Carol picks on you and that you don't understand why she singles you out yet you are setting out here to try and deliberately wind her up and don't deny that it is what you are up to! :fuelfire: This exchange between you both is going nowhere except down a blind alley so leave it at that. You've made your point already. Just agree to disagree.

how careful are people when pressure washing around the front of the car?
Just don't direct the spray directly at the air-intake orifice, although it does have a shield unless it's been replaced with a "scoop".

Tim you know full well you are trying to wind me up and as you can see, other people can see it too.
You said previously you were going to ignore any posts by me but you just can't help yourself.

It's quite pathetic really. You have shown yourself to be an insensitive arse. You know my mother died last week and yet you still can't resist trying to wind me up even knowing this and knowing how I must be. Don't you still live at home with your mother? Then you would think you could understand to lay off.

OG & Andysat, I appreciate you commenting and pointing this out. Thank you.

f**k off Tim, seriously. You're a pig.

Going back Carol I was putting a point across and an opinion, if you don't agree with it that's fine, it's got absolutely nothing to do with having a go etc etc, all you have done is become abusive, over what exactly ........nothing hence my storm in a tea cup comment.

Really not a very nice way to behave on a forum.

As for others saying back off it really is pretty pathetic over nothing.
