People choose to buy new and with respect mr wilks your argument is on this basis new or used, there are advantages and disadvantages of both but please don't try to say used is better, as it's all about choice.
However, I would rather have an S3 maniac, just because the inside is a better place to be.
Who mentioned a 1 series ? Not me , That,s another car that i can,t see the money in , way overpriced new & used IMO rather have a used 3 series
I also have never said used is better than new
My own thoughts are merely showing that offer up the Golf at whatever the price £29k? / £34k? & then compare with what other vehicles can be had (whether that be used, new or ex demo ) & you would be in a minority if you bought one with your own hard earned cash
Unless you are gifted with a surplus of never ending readies then buying a brand new £30k car does not make financial sense , bought through a business is a different matter as it can be offset against tax & therefore the loss in value can be absorbed by taxpayers instead of your own pocket
as for bricks, mine is going soon as ooop north I'll be lucky to make 1k a year keeping it as opposed to the 7k p.a. even after I take out 7k on a rental property.
