VT2 upgrade kit started :-)

From memory mine was around £700 2.5yrs ago for the VT460 kit. It`ll depend on what the value is declared at, no getting away with it unless you drive to Norway and have it fitted or smuggle it back in the boot.

Well........ To be honest it's an expense I really hadn't planned for but I gotta suck it n deal with it. I have to say it's left me feeling thoroughly pissed off. I'll call n deal with the thieving buggers tomoro.

on hindsight - holiday to Norway would have been cheaper. Didn't Flemke do that?

Buy anything from anyone outside the EU and you have to pay taxes, it`s the Law. Unfortunately. Somtimes we get lucky with small value items and they slip through customs but very unlikely with higher value stuff.

Toplad I bet u, if u mark a huge box with ess tuning written in it as a gift you'd have customs opening it up and causing a whole world of issues. More to the point I'm sure doing it that way would cause ess issues. Ow well after the gym tomoro morning I'll phone first thing and get it paid. I'll post up the damage. Early night for me tonight I think.

Don't think I'd bother about that if I were you, as soon as you're driving the car it won't matter :driving:

Having just paid £80 duty on a pair of jeans and some shirts from the US I feel for you. It's pain without gain. I'm surprised they didn't mention this when shipping though, they would have known this would be payable when they put it in the crate.

I think the duty applies to anything over £20 in value and with smaller items the royal mail fleece you by a massive margin in handling fees as well. Hopefully yours aren't quite so steep.

Still once this baby is fired up under the hood I'm sure the whole incident will be forgotten 8)

reading this lines just remind me that i am going to pay taxes too for my order on RPI. OUCH completely forgot that. SSSSSHHHTTTT

I did not pay duty on my order from RPI ... nor on my Porter Cable machine

Yup the rpi was another one that cost me a fortune!! Lol your turn!!

Perhaps the difference was that I had it sent to my business address (i.e Ltd) and they did not bother to sting me?

The package has been released. Fed ex say it should be here tomoro. If it is I'll eat my hat but hey that's what they say. I'll be happy once it's here, I can then look forward to the install on the 12th.

Sure you'll sleep better knowing it's out of hock.

Is anyone else, other than Beedub of course, quite excited about this?

Over 1100 views in one week, it certainly seems to have gained some interest

Well if it performs as expected I imagine there will be quite a queue for the next ESS order...one thing an M owner will never have is enough POWER. I can see the boost contributing to some major tyre wear in the near future :D

I think I'm like the uk test bed, it'll either be fabulous or just a disaster, maybe more uk owners will take the plunge after seeing or hearing my experience , I've spent months researching the kit, and ess, in the us they are very highly spoke of. I've spoke to many uk owners via pistonheads and the support offered by ess seems second to none. If the kit arrives tomoro I'll be the happiest man alive. I wonder if it'll arrive in a wooden crate or a box??
