Vibra technic engine mounts

I think I have been persuaded that this is a good buy and if there is a group buy I would be up for it.

If not I think I will source myself soon.

Hi Z4 Forum People :)

We would be more than happy to do a deal for Z4-Forum Customers, however the prices will not be as good as last year’s prices due to the Vibra-Technics retail pricing increase which happened 1st January 2016.

The 2016 retail price on these mounts is £123.48 inc VAT each
We can offer them at £100.00 inc VAT each (so £200.00 a pair) as a special deal as and when required, rather than trying to get numbers together for a group buy, as an increased quantity will not change our level of discount that we get from the manufacturer.
As has been mentioned and linked in on the forums, we did previously have them listed at a slightly lower price than this, however it’s no longer possible for us to do them at these prices as a result of the above mentioned price increases.

We have also been had a bit of a telling off from a few of our suppliers and been asked to stop advertising any discounted prices on their BMW related products, unfortunately some customers can’t stop themselves trying and blag a better deal with a different retail supplier – and when that retailer doesn't have the buying power we do and can’t match the deal they get upset and go crying to the suppliers.
So basically any links you may have seen in the past will now be marked up to retail price and those deals will unfortunately never be repeated.

Orders can be made via my e-mail address: [email protected] , or by contacting me on the phone 0161 776 0777 (option 1).

Hope this helps.
Kind regards,

Has that price changed in the last few days Al? or is it that the prices on your site hadn't been updated from the 1st Jan

I'm sure they were advertised as £98 ish a few days ago.

Yes, that's correct, the prices were changed this morning. We only re-opened on 4th January, and have been playing 'Catch up' over the past few days.

Do I really need them?

I still don't like the slight 'clunk' feeling changing gear, would this address that, or is it just the natural drive chain characteristic of the car? I never noticed it on my 3.0si or indeed any other car, or is it simply the fact the engine power causes slightly different behaviours?

I'm only on 16k, so can't imagine they are worn out...perished from lack of movement perhaps!

i don't think you do NEED them yet.... due to your miles... but even at 16k, you'd be shocked at the difference they make. i don't get that clunk your talking about btw.... you may want to get that checked out.

Possibly a poor phrase using the word clunk. More of a feeling of drive train being engaged and accelerator pressed after a gear change. Nothing nasty, but all I can compare it to is not as smooth as other cars if I'm not committed. Might just be a trait of the transparency this car shows vs my previous & mainly on cold engine & this certainly is a nicer drive once warmed up

Once warm it's so much better shifting after 3k than before, even if I feel a bit of a knob as even 3k in town from inside the car feels a few k revs higher than it actually is; always feels as though I am trying harder than I am when pulling away with mild pace.

Im a nightmare for just buying things, especially as 95% of my miles in a gentle motorway drive at 3,000rpm. I'm happy to admit (if not proud) that my skills are probably significantly lower than the car can handle, but enjoy it a great deal....not yet turned TC off though to give an idea as to my confidence levels - if it benefits the car / my driving then I will pay to get it done, I work hard enough to enjoy a few treats but need to prioritise

Looks: CSLs / aero skirts, Benefit: engine mounts

don't bother with engine mounts, stick to the cosmetics, the way your driving is fine for the stock pieces.

Yup, I've said it before and I'll say it again - Anything anyone needs, whether it's something I can obviously get, or something you're not sure if I can get, just drop me a PM and I'll look into it :)

 first time a forum has actually saved me money!

when they need changing they consider it then but with your use, and miles, no point at all.

When fitting these do you need to replace the bolts for the engine mount bracket or is it just swap the old mounts for the upgraded mounts ??

you don't have to , i did.

my mount bracket stock bolts were tight and to spec anyway but i replaced due to what id read about the factory fitted ones not being Tq'd properly. i should really get under the car and check them tbh.

Wish they did mounts for non-M...

Yup, Exact same mounts!

I'm gonna be fitting brand new 'M' mounts on my 3.0Si as the M-Mounts use a slightly harder rubber and a smaller "fluid cavity" so should offer more support.

Really, despite the non matching part numbers?
I'll wait for someone else to prove it
I think that GuidoK has already proved it - he has the mounts on his 3.0l

The part number for the 3.0si engine mounts is the same part number as the E46 330i / ci models. I fitted a set of E46 M3 engine mounts to a friend's E46 330cs last week with no issues. The physical shape of the mount and all the mounting hardware is the same, the difference is simply the rubber and the internal fluid cavity.

Plus the VibraTechnics mounts will replace any of the following part numbers:
11812283798
11811140985
11811141377
11817837985

This covers 6-Cylinder E36's
6-Cylinder Z3's
6-Cylinder E46's
E46 M3
6-Cylinder Z4's
(VibraTechnics website for reference)

That and I'm not in this job to guess things. ;)
