Venice for my birthday

Hello from Venice!

What can I say, such a beautiful place! However the hotel were staying in is somewhat lacking, however for a short stay it is passable.

Great call to get a private water taxi from the airport, this was a huge highlight!

I will point out almost all restaurants focus there menu heavily on fish : sea food (understandable considering location). This can be an issue if like me you travel with someone who hates the sight and smell of fish.

Unfortunately the mrs as taken ill tonight so were back in the room now. However this won't spoil a very memorable trip.

Venice, add it to your bucket list!

Arrived back on thursday, and I have to say the trip had its ups and downs but the place is stunning.

If your going my advice is don't skimp on accommodation, my Mrs went more on location and pictures on there website. This proved to be a mistake, the guesthouse was very poor. Breakfast was terrible, the room as big but not clean, mould round the bath etc and wifi didnt work at all. However we were only there 2 nights and it was a surprise for my birthday so we just made the best of it. On the last night I even found a huge bed bug which had sampled my tasty blood, you should of seen it splat when I killed it :o .

I consider myself somewhat of a foody, and Im sorry to say nothing in Venice I tasted was better then good. If I could do it all over again I would probably just eat in Mc Donald's and save some £££ (and I dont really like it).

My top tip is take good shoes, ive got blisters on my blisters!

Next up is Vilamoura on the 7th of October, this one will be more relaxing.
