Value of my '56 plate Z4MC?

Just to be clear gents this is NOT a for sale ad!

After 5 and half years it may be time to sell my Z4MC, which – with any car I’ve had for a while and really liked – leaves me feeling slightly sad at the thought of letting it go I have to say...

I have a friend who has been interested in it for quite a while, so I’m looking to set a fair price on it so he can decide if he really does want it, and so I wondered what the forum market watchers thought on it. Details are:

October 2006 '56 plate
Sapphire black with red/black interior, piano black dash inserts
63,500 miles
fBMWsh
BMW Mondial warranty
Oil service is next due in around 12,500 miles
2 former registered keepers
Options are Bluetooth, satnav, heated seats, rear parking sensors, loud speaker upgrade, elec folding mirrors.

Overall condition both in and out I’d describe as very good (was last detailed summer 2015). It will have the original unmarked wheels and back boxes on it, so it will be 100% OEM.

Thoughts on what you'd expect to pay for it?

The valuation experts will be along shortly,

...... but IF I was looking it's exactly the colour combo, spec, mileage and history Id want, whoever buys it would have a very desirable example

Mates rates 14k  otherwise 15 - 16k
Some private sellers with similar mileage are holding out for around the 17k mark for the ///M coupe, pitched at that you may have to be patient.

Id say £16k was fair place to kick off for both parties & if its a little more or a little less then neither should feel aggrieved
Great looking example

I would say about the 16 mark too, it looks a well kept car. Paid 16 for mine 5 years back and wouldn't want to see it go for much less.

Thanks for the kind words guys and thoughts on its value. As unbiased as I can be (!) it is a lovely example and it was exactly the spec/colour I was after and I travelled pretty far to get it, and it's been a pleasure to own from the start. The interesting point is that the chap I bought it from has always asked me to let him know when I sell it, so there is a chance he might get his hands back on it, hence me trying guauge it's worth and letting him know. We'll see what happens.

There's been a couple of PMs - thanks for those - but only if the previous owner doesn't want it will I put a proper 'for sale' ad together with all the details, decent images etc, and that will be a few weeks away yet.

The thought of selling it strangely makes me want to get in it and drive it more! :-D

Lovely looking car OP! Sorry I can't offer any advice on value, but please don't sell unless you really mean to!

After someone viewed my E86 I took it out for a drive, and realised I just had to have one!

Then I got a deposit on it, so I just had to find another!

Lovely looking car but that's AUC money.

Good luck.

that link is to a 22k car so not sure how you justify that statement

I never said it wasn't worth the momey, not looked after, mistreated or the like.

I said at 23k it's a car from a BMW dealer with warranty, there is a difference.

I will wholly agree it's a stunner but there are cars on here with less mileage and good service history for 5k less that gives room for your OEM CSLs and change.

I hope it finds a new home. GOOD LUCK

Is this the OP's car?

I saw this last night and I'm sure it said 63k miles but it's now saying 57k miles? It's also got a different registration number,

That said, it is BIG money for a private sale and I find the tone of the advert off putting - "No cash, no test drive. The car will not be mistreated and if you have any desire to red-line it, you buy it first. , ," Just my opinion though.

The car is stunning though.

GLWTS.

No it's not the same car. The OP clearly stated a red/black interior where as the one in the Auto Trader link is a black only interior.

Not the OP's car guys, his is Sapphire Black the one in the Link is Ruby Black, should've gone to spec savers

Lovely car, OP

s**t guys sorry..

Posted my original post in the wrong thread it was meant to be in market watch.

Sorry to hijack

I would say £20k with the OEM and aftermarket CSL wheels thrown in.

The Z4M market is undervalued as people on this forum constantly say. i.e. The cars are looking great value at the moment so why not ask for more? The cars are very rare compared to other offerings and what else can people get for the money? A Cayman S but then it a smoother less edgy drive so won't provide the same visceral driving thrill.

Something is only worth what people are willing to pay but £20K I think is a fair price for what is the last of the BMW M naturally aspirated 6--cylinder cars with one of the greatest performance engines ever made. :driving:

Exactly there's a reason we paid what we did. Coming from an e46 m3 I wanted something slightly more fun and in this price range the choices for me were a cayman s which I found competent but slightly boring not to mention the engine worries & an e92 m3 but again to similar to the e46. I'd completely forgotten about the z4m but once on the radar it made complete sense, the wonderful s54, reliability, build quality, rareness and raw fun it made complete sense in the 15k-20k price bracket. For whatever reason they are slow to move on but are worth the money compared to whats out there.

Hi all, thanks for the kind words on my car, as mentioned the advert someone linked to is NOT my car... I saw that ad a week ago and I actually think he's put the price UP since I last saw it, but the text in the ad (as mentioned) is a bit OTT for me!

I'm still a good week or two away from putting an advert for mine together – private plate is now off and front bumper stone-chips all sorted now 8) ) – that is if I do decide to selll... still not 100% convinced :|
