Hi
I recently got a 2007 2.5si Automatic, and from the first morning it struggled to start. I took it back to the dealer and it turned out the breather system was blocked so the tank had sucked inwards, and burned out a fuel pump. They replaced the whole tank.
But I still find that the fuel cap is sucked on tight. When I get it to about 1/4 full and want to fill up, I have to jiggle it back and forth and bit by bit I hear air wooshing in and then I can get it open, after about a minute. To me that is not normal and I suspect there is something wrong still.
I've searched and found posts on this but they offered various causes which were beyond my understanding, so I am asking here for some simple places to start looking.
Does anyone know what else could cause this besides the fuel tank? I believe they replaced the tank and the pumps and sensors inside the tank.
Cheers
Ryan
