We are touring Scotland at the moment and the Z has decided that the remote central locking isn't going to work anymore. It was all fine this morning, both keys locking and unlocking remotely and the remote boot release was working too. 300 miles later and neither key will work any part of the central locking system, I can lock and unlock using the drivers doors lock or the boot lock but there is no remote locking at all. I can't tell if the alarm is arming at the moment as the sun is too bright, but I will check later. Can anyone help - I can't believe it's playing up on day one of our holiday.

Just one other random question, Is the central convienience ECU under the passenger seat?

If you have both keys with you then do option 3 or else one key will work and one wont.

Thanks very much for that Stu.

We're staying in a hotel next to another hotel with a large wireless router for his customers internet and it turns out, after talking to the owner of our hotel, that this routers signal seems to block out no end of car remotes. At this point we'd already done the recommended option 3 and scambled it even more.

We then took it half a mile away and carried out option 3 again and it worked perfectly. :D On returning to the hotel it was blocked out again by the router. :headbang:

I had something similar happen this weekend when I drove up to see my parents.
I had my car reprogrammed for remote roof opening a month or so ago, but although the car would lock and unlock while I was staying there, I couldn't get the roof to lower or raise with the 'press and hold' on either key.
I drove back home on Sunday and it all works fine again. There's a lot of overspill from motion lights, wireless routers and active cameras in their street, so I'm guessing that was the problem for me as well. The fob was ok to get the signal to the car (at considerably reduced distance), but not good enough to sustain a signal over the period of time needed to get the roof to drop.
