Ye I loved the one we had fantastic cars... would I swap the Z4Mc probs not but would buy an M3 to go with it ;)!

I'm averaging 27mpg from my Z4M, apparently the combined 22mpg claimed for the M3 is quite optimistic. Neither is what you'd call cheap to run though.

Thought about it a lot myself, but it doesnt add up as a daily hack - its much thirstier than the z, i'd get 19/20 at best, vs 26/27.... a lot of dough at 14-15k miles a year.

Decided to keep my roadster for another year and then consider a 997 (under some pressure to get back seats)

With high fuel prices come great opportunities!

Very well said!

I've not been in an E9x M3, would quite like to hear what they sound like when really opened up whilst sitting inside. A few folks on m3cutters traded up from the E46 to the E9x and it seemed to take them a while to truly like it or see it as an improvement over the E46 M3 experience, which is apparently a bit more raw over the E9x.

I personally have no desire for an E9x M3, whilst the V8 does sound appealing I prefer the looks of the Z4MC 100 times over it so would never swap it. Amazing how the prices of them are falling so fast though

I was in the market for either one of these of an M! They are great value considering that was nearly 60k when new! To me it just wasn't special enough and was a little to refined and lacked a bit of sparkle IMO, plus I have no need for rear seats so was a little pointless! I shall be keeping my M roadster for a year and chopping it in for a Gen 2 Carrera S because as the new 991 becomes more readily available the price should drop dramatically of all 997 variants.

I've been looking at these quite a bit too. However, my Z4m has now become my weekend car rather than the daily hack and after driving one I quickly realised the E92 wouldn't be as well suited to performing as a weekend toy.

It's even got Nav! :poke:

(Someone was bound to comment on that)
standard I think

Tapatalking on my iPhone.......

Correct, nav standard

I've considered one and spanked it, on the test drive.
It was fast, refined and handled pretty well.
As a everyday car, its hard to beat, but I found it bland and the steering lacks feel compared to E46 which wasn't exactly brimming with feel.
Doesn't feel special enough to be a toy, but very useable, practical and speedy

I made they change and haven't looked back, I loved my Z4M but the M3 I feel is a much more rounded car espicially the gearbox which for me I felt was the weak point on the Z4, you will enjoy it and you will love the sound of that V8 on full chat  .

Very optimistic... averaged 21mpg over 20k highs of 24 :S

If you want a fast E46 then buy a 330ci or M3. There are tons available. I have a 330 Ci x reg and it

's very quick. If you love the M3 engine there is no better place to hear it than in a Z4m
. It has the same initial push but the weight difference makes it awesome !

I'm talking about the E92 M3 though and you can't get that V8 in the Z4 from factory, so I'm a little lost in what your trying to say :?

Lovely car. Unfortunately despite the engine and the Chassis and the genuine Mness of the thing, it's still a 3 series coupe. That means that one day it will be worthless scrap like most M3's before it. A crying shame, as I personally love them, but I fear a fact of life.
