Update the DME software?

No expert on this but I would say the the US model is ‘tuned’ for lower octane fuel plus the catalytic converters in the exhaust headers (manifolds). If you had the ‘euro’ headers and ran 98RON fuel I guess it would perform like our cars here in Europe. Not sure on the VA emissions standards though.

Is it inadvisable to flash a roadster with coupe software? Will that cause any errors with ISTA+ use or other modules perhaps?

Not quite, the version '7841210' is for a US roadster.

Here's the AIF from my bench MSS70, that was sent to me from a US LHD Roadster (VIN BT93). When it got here I updated it to the latest software, which you can see is the last entry in the AIF.

So it went from 820S (7838877) to 840S (7840451) when I did a 'Update ZUSB' using WinKFP, WinKFP always picks the latest appropriate software based on the installed datens.

I'll grab the AIF from my UK coupe in a bit.
Edit:
Ok,
actually I learned there are two "branches" of firmware for whatever reason. Here's an example for US Roadsters:

7839144 → 7839423 → 7840451

7839146 → 7839425 → 7840453 → 7841210

Not sure why, the first path versions always end in ZUHC and the second is ZWHE. They are both BT93 (US Roadster).

Probably nothing of consequence just interesting.
