I know there are lots of threads like it but today is finally the day I can post my one!

Collecting my Z4 at 5pm tonight, it's going to be a long day!

Gutted:( :(

Just had a call from the dealership to say the truck my car was on has broken down and now my car won't be available at the dealership until at least Tuesday.

To say I am gutted is an understatement.

I've had to change my insurance back to my original car now and due to work commitments I won't see my new car until Saturday 11th April.

He said he would speak to his manager to see what he could do as a gesture of goodwill.

Anyone got any thoughts on where I stand and what I might be able to expect?

This is my first time of ever having a brand new car so its safe to say my day has been ruined.

Oh, I feel for you. What a bummer.

I don't believe the 'truck broken down' story, oldest excuse in the book

It does sound a bit dodgy.
Even if it was , surely another transporter would be brought in to forward on the cars and shouldnt take 4 days.

Well that's what I thought but I know he won't budge and tell me anything different

I'll tell you one thing - go over that car with a fine tooth comb when you do pick it up !

I aint buying that story either - most dealers would surely get cars that are due for delivery to customers 24 hours ahead of delivery to make sure all is well !

Sounds very suspect :(.

Not good !

It was agreed that I would get the car the car the same day it arrived due to me being out of the country and it was meant to arrive today and I would collect today.

Great, so thoughts are its been delivered and badly damaged?

Not neccessarily - given this info if they were hoping to get the car delivered and turned around for you in a day then any sort of delivery hitch could cause a knock on effect meaning missing the 5 oclock deadline.

With it being Easter that would explain the next week earliest too.

I'd still be checking it very carefully though

Dont worry i'm sure its delayed thats' all
So they can surely lend you a nice toy over the weekend on their insurance -tell them you had planned to take SWMBO away somewhere special with arrival of new car and shes absolutely gutted like you
If they cant do that tell them they can pay half for said weekend instead -300 squid sounds about right i would say
Be firm and tell them how gutted both you and SWMBO are and they need to make it up to you now

my new Mercedes was delayed due to transporter issues (kept being bumped off of transporters for other cars apparently), anyway, in the end they loaned me a demonstrator for a week before mine turned up.

So I've just had in writing from the dealership that the car has not suffered any damaged so if when I do finally collect/inspect and I find anything at least I have it in writing so will have a leg to stand on.

Also as a goodwill gesture they've offered to throw in an apple phone snap in adaptor, stubby sport aerial and full tank of petrol). So I can't complain at that.
I can't say about going away for the weekend as they know I'm going out of the country with work
