So I've just had in writing from the dealership that the car has not suffered any damaged so if when I do finally collect/inspect and I find anything at least I have it in writing so will have a leg to stand on.

Also as a goodwill gesture they've offered to throw in an apple phone snap in adaptor, stubby sport aerial and full tank of petrol). So I can't complain at that.
I can't say about going away for the weekend as they know I'm going out of the country with work

Gutted for you but I'm sure the goodwill gesture will help a bit.
I'd be livid but what can you do.
Don't let it spoil your Easter though.

Trust me I'm totally gutted but I've just sat down with a glass of wine to try and cheer myself up. Just hoping it's not been damaged and Is safe wherever it is now. I don't like waiting longer than I need to :(:(

He's right you should def push them for something else -i mean were talking about a major purchase here -its not like you're getting a new sofa delivered .
i once threatened a dealer i'd send SWMBO in to sort an issue out if they didn't comply with my demands for compensation -he duly laughed until i told him that she once broke my jaw in an amicable argument about something trivial - soon changed his mind after that

What more could I ask for though ? I've never had to deal with something like this before and don't want to be taken for a ride so I appreciate any help.

All new cars come with a tank full of petrol. It's a legal requirement. Check your sales invoice, you will find that you have paid for it. Don't let them make you think that this is a freebie.

The fuel tank will need topping up after they have recovered it from the ditch it fell into upside down having fallen off the transporter it came off in the winds earlier in the week.
The Dentmaster smelly hanging off the rear view mirror will be the giveaway. :(

Only kidding, very jealous you going get your hands on a new one, will be worth the wait.
It's Bank Holiday weekend...it's only going rain!

I think the fuel cost is 25 quid which should appear on the invoice. I'm sure the Zed is fine and the delay could be down to anything or a balls up with the paperwork or any finance, easier to blame the transporter as it reflects less badly on the dealer but then don't see why they should lie. I would insist with the sales person to do the handover indoors in the dry, they will try and do this anyways but depends how many handovers they have on the day and availability of the handover bay. My Zed was handed over indoors but my M135i was done outside in drizzly rain. It just makes it easier to check the car over if indoors.

Thank for the heads up guys.

Well ive had a while now to sit and mull things over and ive decided that the best thing I can do is try to put it out of my mind and wait for collection and when I do collect It just go over it thoroughly even though I'm hoping It hasnt been damaged and the dealer has categorically stated in writing It hasn't been damaged.
Also, ive contacted them about the fuel as you've all been correct that it was included in my original invoice so waiting to see what they come back with.

Also, next week when I am about I will be down at heathrow until 5pm and they close at 6 but the dealer has said that he will stay late and wait for me to arrive to allow me to collect my car when it arrives.
Thankfully Im part exchanging my current car so im not carless at the moment.

One kick in the nads was that Id already changed my insurance over so I had to change it back. The dealer said they would cover the cost of this but I have to say Sheila's wheels have been fantastic. I've told them all about the situation and as a goodwill gesture for me having a bad day they've wavered all admin fees surrounding this situation for the 3 times I've had to adjust my insurance (from old car to new, back to old, then back to new when it arrives). I can't speak highly enough about them.

I'm still absolutely gutted especially as I planned a whole bank holiday weekend of detailing and protecting the car but there Ya go! Nothing I can do now apart from wait:(.

Hasn't the dealer offered you BMWs 7 day free insurance, it saves you faffing with your own insurance until you have the Zed. I also found BMWs insurance alot cheaper than Adrian Flux who I was with at the time.

Yeah they have offered me that but last time I used it when I bought my 1 series (ex demo) they gave me the 7 day insurance but we're then unable to offer me a quote due to my age. This time I didn't want to faff with the insurance so just thought Id change it once with my current provider and all will be good. How wrong was I!

It wouldn't surprise me if the logistics company didn't have any spare transporters considering the mayhem that's been happening at the docks & Asian Breeze having mechanical problems :(. My car was due with the dealer on the 12th and turned up the middle of this week. It was sitting at the german port waiting for a ship for around 1 month.
