Hi all,
I’ve been back in my Zed for three months or so now. Having started several threads for various challenges including airbags, steering angle sensors etc. I decided to centralise and summarise progress so far - with a few pictures of course.
Work carried out:
New Steering Angle Sensor
New Left Airbag B Pillar Module + coding (sourced from California!)
New Right Airbag B Pillar Module + coding
New front shock top mounts
New adjustable drop links
New auxiliary drive belt
New front brake flexi’s
New exhaust nuts and flat gaskets
4 new Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres (had a blow out on the M27
)
Fresh MOT
All work carried out by Ross and his excellent team at RBM.
Over the last few days I have been cleaning, polishing, applying leather care, leather colour restorer and some Renovo roofer to restore some of the convertible tops colour having doused in it Milton solution.
Plan to have a go at restoring the passenger side headlight as it’s a little cloudy.
Plenty spent so far but to be fair the car had only covered about 12k miles in the decade before I came along and put on 3k miles in as many months with all this fantastic weather, so I expected it to throw a few wobblies.
These cars are such good value and being over 20 years old now it’s really in great shape with excellent spec.
Some shiny pictures - still on 108’s (excellent condition considering their usual problems) and sporting the original whippy aerial and grey nose grille's.
Thanks to everyone for your sound advice as always.
