unbareable noise

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can help. I've just got my z4 about a week ago, 06 plate roadster with manual folding roof. But when I hit about 75 - 80 mph an unbareable whistling noise comes from the roof as if wind is screaming in. I'm talking really loud. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know what could be coursing it? Thank you very much,
Andy

Manual roof? The buttons near the ashtray are for the up and down of the roof.

Is the roof motor dead?

By that I mean the soft top isn't done by a motor. Turn a handle then fold it down. But when the roof is up the whistling is deafening.

Does that mean I have to always drive on the motorway with my windows slightly down? Is there any fix to the problem? Thanks

Do you know where about the alignment forum is? I'm from UK, but not electric.

Are you sure the motor just hasn't failed then?

All uk cars had electric motors.

Either that or it's an import.

It's deffinatly not an import got a full hpi on it. Just doesn't have a motor or even the electric buttons next to the ashtray. it's just got a handle in the middle on the roof that you turn then manually fold.

Here is the guide for aligning the Windows

How old is you car, and do you have any pictures. Can only think it was a special order, although why anybody would want a manual roof is beyond me. Other than the motors that keep failing that is

BMW did sell manual roof Z4s in the UK. When I bought my E88 the sales man was telling me about his next appointment. He had a couple coming to see a Z4 just in the spec they had been looking for and when he checked the car over he realised it was a manual roof and not an electric one.

He was bricking it wondering how to explain his error to them as I believe they were coming from quite a distance to see it and he didn't have a mobile number for them. He then tried to flog me it along with a red 120i 3 door lol!

I went on a date once with a bloke who had a manual roof TT, what a pain in the backside that was too. I was like it has a manual roof? I thought they went out of fashion in the 70s
