I recalled Graeme bought it in 2005 and it was an 03 plate??

Correct :)

Don't know why I wrote "new". New to me I guess :) I paid 25k back in July 2005.

Plan is to keep the 123d for 3 to 5 years, already saved £10k off list price and only 2500 miles on the clock, so even if it's worth £10k in 3 years time I won't cry too much.

Also keeping my M3 Evo and gradually turning it from fast road to pure track day car.

At £25k I would consider that a new car too mate!

Well the 123d sounds great, I must admit I would prefer the 3 door over the coupe too. Make sure you hang around to put up a few pics of it etc.

I tell you if I was after a 2.0 or a 2.5 I could have my pick of cars, check some of these out:

I would buy differently today. Instead of spending 45k on my M, I would buy that AMV8 from 2006 for 39k ...

The thing is not to panic, "your car" will come to you eventually, if you end up compromising the car you really wanted will appear a couple of days later

No worries there mate, I've been waiting 4 months - I can wait a bit longer....3.0i all the way!

LOL I saw your comment on that other thread, TBH that is a car worth pushing another grand at for £11k, if you could get it for that.

The thing is, at £10k you're sort of scraping the barrel with choice and as you've found there isn't much available, for another couple of grand there is a lot of choice out there.

Fancy an upgrade from your SLK to that then Mike? You have a history of buying great cars :P

I know but it's always worth asking right? If I had asked Graeme a few day's earlier I might have got that for £10k. You just never know, which brings me to the cars you linked to first - one of those is the one I'm test driving on Saturday! The other I've put an offer through email and they've asked me to phone them back, will see what they say today.

I simply don't have another £2k but to be honest there have bee so many available of the last wee while at around £10k (while I've not had the cash to buy until this Sunday) that I'm not worried, one will turn up.

As for your favorite, I like it too but I'm undecided on those alloys and red leather, yes I'm being fussy but then why buy something I'm not really happy with.

Thanks for the links.

Do you think if I got a car with Composite star spoke alloys that it would be reasonable to assume that someone might swap their ellipsoid alloys for them? If anyone would be up for that let me know.

What you want to do is sell the star spokes on ebay and get yourself a set of 193M's from the 3 series M Sport. Here's mine before I put the Ellipsoid's back on. I loved them, looks fantastic and original.

Those 193M's are nice - do those cost less than the other two I mentioned and are they 17's or 18's?

Became a bit "common" when they put every BMW on them in 2006 ...

True on the 3 series, but show me another Z4 with them on :P

The offsets are slightly different, but it means they fill the arches much better with the advantage of not rubbing like aftermarket rims.

Won't be much of a difference in price, probably the same actually. I sold mine for £400 (rims only and swapped tyres). The 193M's will be newer so hopefully in better condition. The star rims suffer badly from corrosion so that could affect their value.

The thing is my favourite rims are the ellipsoids but so many have the star rims....
