Paza, if you want to light it cheap get some basic battens and buy daylight coloured tubes, these give excellent colour rendering. You can get daylight in LED fittings too but they will cost you more money. It's up to you if you want me to look at the LED route for you still. It really depends on if you just want a garage or you want a great garage?

Hmmmm both options would be idea i guess am drawn to the spot lights if am honest .... but I suppose cost will play a role. I know i want a "white light" .. not the amber yellow effect

You can get 'cool white' 4000 kelvin that will be fine and you can get 'daylight' 6500 kelvin which will give you better colour rendering as I said. Both of these (and other colour temperatures) are available in LED fitting too.

I use 4 double sets of daylight tubes which gave a perfect light for detailing and feels easier to the eye (somehow you don't see the 50hz flicker so much).

I will add the LED lights in the ceiling for effect, so Lux if you have any info on that then I will be pleased to receive that as well.
