Guys

I've got a bit lost on which spots to buy.... garage is 19ft by 9ft

How many should I go for , I was thinking 6?

Which spot lights do I need ? I wanted LED versions so which version should i get , I was after a nice white light any pointers chaps :?

I was thinking 5w gu10's?

Thanks in advance

Paza

You're going to need quite a few LED's to give you enough light unles you go for a decent wattage downlight. The poxy 3 & 5w GU10 lamps you can get off ebay for a couple of quid are shite, the more you spend the better output you get it's that simple.
If you pm me your email address I'll do a calc tomoz at work and give you a couple of options

If you were to use 5w GU10's you'd need about 18/20 off the top of my head!!!

 fair one  will do... am i being stupid then i thought 5W Led was like 50w normal halogen bulb :? ... soooo confused looking forward the email cheers for that :D

I use the Megaman 6w GU10 in my kitchen. The lamp has 410 lumen output (the important bit!) and I've got 9 in a room 3 x 4mtrs but your garage is nearly double that hence the 18/20 5w's needed. I can do slightly larger fittings with a higher output that aren't expensive and you'd probably get away with using about 8 or so.

O cool , am wanting to do a bit of detailing now and again so worth having the right light, got an awful strip light at the mo

I use daylight strip lights which are much better than the normal ones you see.

I am adding the LEDs as well, but that is more for a nice effect rather than usable light.

here's my awesome garage during a transient phase

no fancy light though!, just loads of tools and magic

Paza, sorry mate was called out of the office most of the day today. I promise I'll email tomorrow

Here is mine - need to take a picture of the LED under unit lighting though :D

Awesomes. I'm trying to figure out how to build a garage without having space for a garage - so interesting to pool ideas :p

What on earth do you do in there? Where's the welder, compressor, lathe and car lift?
