At the risk of duplicating another thread [I did search...honest :) ] ..........

I will shortly need [want] to change all four RF :x tyres, so will do so, but to proper ones

There's loads of choice out there, so any suggestions for from where [Blackcircles?] and manufacturer[Dunlop?]?

2004 2.5i Z4 currently fitted with 255/35/ZR18/94W on the rear and 225/40/R18/92WXL on the front

Thank you :driving:

p.s. I'm in Cheltenham so local would be good :)

Look here and they are very competitive, providing great service and fast delivery:

If you are sticking with RFT's then I'd try Dunlop or Pirelli.

I find the ride far batter than the Bridgestone.

with tyreleader (+1 for them btw), you should be able to find a local fitter that they will ship to - far easier than getting your indy on their list...

Thanks for the link - all I need to do now is to pick a make :o

Can't tell if you're swapping to new RFTs or not so my answer and recommendation for both!

RFT = Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP
Non-RFT = Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric

NONE RFT - i.e. "proper tyres"

Thanks for that, I've run these before so it was a choice between them or Dunlop

Any other suggestions to confuse me? :(

:D Easy! Michelin PSS or Eagle F1 AS2s for proper tyres but don't forget to buy the kit that the //Ms come with (tyre sealant and compressor) as well as the tyres themselves.

PS I have the F1's on my 340HP, lowered, modified car and they are excellent! :D

I'm currently running Kumho KU39's all round in your set up and I have to say they a bloody brilliant in both wet and dry. Next to no noise and a fraction of the cost of the big names. Worth a look.

I've just fitted Eagle F1 A2's from Tyreleader but had a delivery hiccup, however since everybody else swears by them I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=68276&p=1006851#p1006851

I can't fault the Eagle tyres which are really top-notch but wouldn't say they are as big a step up from my previous Falkens FK452's as the hype would have you believe. Having said that with the price Tyreleader are offering on the Eagles it's a bit of a no brainer IMHO. Take care when comparing prices as the Eagle F1 A2 comes in two sidewall load ratings Standard and XL (stiffer side-wall) The XL cost a few quid more. There are mixed opinions on the two but my fitter recommended the XL since it's a mid way between the super-stiff RFT sidewall and softer sidewalls on standard load tyres so should complement the suspension. He also said they should give a bit more protection to the rim over pot-holes and speed bumps. Choices :)

Let me know which ones you go for and where you get them fitted as I'll be needing to do mine shortly..
I will, after I've unconfused myself from all the options :?

I'm thinking of doing a list of tyre choices and then creating a poll!

I can't see any of these recommendations being duffers but some have characteristics which may be more important to you personally, e.g. wear, noise, comfort, ultimate wet weather performance over dry etc. At the end of the day it's a compromise but any of them will do an excellent job and the differences are quite subjective really.

IMO tyre reviews are not that helpful as they usually test it on a car with very different characteristics to the Z4 so I've gone with tyres recommended by members twice now (Falken 452 now Eagle F1A2) and have not regretted the advice.

"Falken 452 now Eagle F1A2" - I'm with you  - probably the latter

Thanks :driving:
