Let me know which ones you go for and where you get them fitted as I'll be needing to do mine shortly..
I will, after I've unconfused myself from all the options :?

I'm thinking of doing a list of tyre choices and then creating a poll!
Need to find one that can take cheltenham's craps roads. :headbang:

I can't see any of these recommendations being duffers but some have characteristics which may be more important to you personally, e.g. wear, noise, comfort, ultimate wet weather performance over dry etc. At the end of the day it's a compromise but any of them will do an excellent job and the differences are quite subjective really.

IMO tyre reviews are not that helpful as they usually test it on a car with very different characteristics to the Z4 so I've gone with tyres recommended by members twice now (Falken 452 now Eagle F1A2) and have not regretted the advice.

I also went from falkens to Goodyear Eagle F1s

Falken's to Vred's, both a good choice. To be honest, and this could just be me, unless your really pushing it on the road you wont notice a huge step up in grip from the more expensive premium tyres. Honestly mid range are good enough unless your really giving it the beans everywhere.

How did you find the switch from Falkens to Eagles? I went from standard 17" to staggered 18" so it wasn't an exact comparison.

I would say the ride is a bit softer with the Eagles and grip is a bit more road noise though is no better, I thought the Falkens were a good tyre for the price but they tend to wear out quick, haven't had the Eagles long enough to judge how well they wear

I'm currently running Kumho KU39's all round in your set up and I have to say they a bloody brilliant in both wet and dry. Next to no noise and a fraction of the cost of the big names. Worth a look.

I did a bit of looking into these after your comment and they seem to be pissing all over most of (not all) the more expensive brands and are currently great VFM. I need a pair of rears so I am going to go for these as Tyreleader or Oponeo do them for £87 delivered, and I can get them fitted by my local tyre place.

Anyway, if they're rubbish, everyone knows ABS/DSC/ESP stops you crashing in any situation.

not even DSC can overcome the laws of physics.....Therefore, do not limit your options for additional safety by practicing risky driving

You have been warned :driving: enjoy

Can't rate my Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's enough, fantastic tyres in both wet & dry conditions & they're brilliant value for money if you do your research!

I wouldn't say they are performing as good as the premium brands personally, not by these results anyway!

With tyres get the best you can afford, a premium tyre in the majority of cases will be better than a mid range tyre and should last longer as well. They are the only thing that keep you on the road to don't skimp on them if possible!

I've ordered the KU39s on the basis that armco also keeps me on the road within a certain measuring tolerance.

I've used Kumho tyres for years on various different cars without any issues... The Nankang are good too for a cheaper brand!

I personally don't drive like an idiot and these have performed perfectly for me!

I've just fitted Non-RFT Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's all round and they are great. Ditch the run flats the difference is night and day. Lewis.
