Don't be too brave for a couple of hundred miles! (wet or dry)
They just do not feel right at first, almost to the point of "not sure if I've done the righy thing buying these tyres" Very difficult to put a finger on it - but stay with it and like most who have bought them, you'll be hooked!

The rubber should have a shelf life of about 5 years from moulding, the cracks in the rubber of your old tyres is most likely a result of ageing.
