Will be interested to hear what you think, you are the first M with them I think.

Fingers crossed, can't be inferior to the M3s. Will try and run them in before the London meet

I think you will find there are a few of us out there already. Great tyre and a definate improvment on a set of worn Conti's

Vreds now bought, cheers for advice

Don't be too brave for a couple of hundred miles! (wet or dry)

They just do not feel right at first, almost to the point of "not sure if I've done the righy thing buying these tyres" Very difficult to put a finger on it - but stay with it and like most who have bought them, you'll be hooked!

This is spot on. They feel awful at first, like there is no grip. Give them a couple of hundred miles then they feel great

Out with the old, in with the new!

First impressions was the front tyres react so much better, not surprising seeing as though the old ones were borderline legal! Also, should I be bothered that the new rears are about a year old?

How old were the fronts, as they looked like they've seen better days. I don't mean the tread depth, but the cracking.

They must have had some serious heat exposure. I assume the car is parked outside?

The rubber should have a shelf life of about 5 years from moulding, the cracks in the rubber of your old tyres is most likely a result of ageing.

I don't get more than about a year between sets of tyres anyway :P

I can barely get more than 8 months on rear tires... :(

To add to the thread, albeit late to the party, i've had Ultrac Sessanta's before and i really liked them, cheap for the performance offered. Now on something completely different though.

Original tyres, over 5 years old

Yep, can't all have heated garages like your good self :(

This photo makes me feel slightly sick! A little too close to finding it on bricks in the morning!

What pressures work best on the Vreds? I have just had mine delivered and getting them fitted next week.

I ran them at slightly higher pressures than the ones for the stock Continentals. Around 2.2 bar front and 2.3 rear.

Good to meet you last night Flimper, and thanks for your old tyres - looking forward to taking them beyond the limits of traction in the summer
