For me, I'd go for whatever of the following was available at the best price at the time, and I'd be happy with any of them...assuming they're available in the tyre sizes you need.
If you prioritise ultimate WET performance over ultimate DRY performance (and we're talking less than 5% difference), then:
- Michelin Pilot Sport PS4
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 or 6
- Pirelli P Zero PZ4
- Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3
If you prioritise ultimate DRY performance over ultimate WET performance (and we're talking less than 5% difference), then:
- Michelin Pilot Sport PS4S
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport
- Bridgestone Potenza Sport (low initial tread depth helps its dry performance, but means it won't last as long)
- Continental PremiumContact 6 (the name is a bit strange, as it's performance more like a SportContact tyre)
If you just want a cheaper all-round tyre that's safe in dry, wet, cold conditions (but not snow), then:
- Michelin Primacy 4
- Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 (currently on the family bus)
- Bridgestone Turanza T005
- Falken ZE310 EcoRun
- Uniroyal Rainsport 5
If you just want a true all-season tyre, then:
- Michelin CrossClimate Plus or CrossClimate 2 which has just replaced it (had these on both my Alfa 147s for 40,000 miles, including autumn/winter trips to the 'Ring and Z4 meets)
- Goodyear Vector 4Seasons (had these for 3 years on the previous family bus)
- Bridgestone WeatherControl A005 (had these on my 330D for 40,000 miles, including autumn/winter trips to the 'Ring and Z4 meets)
- Continental AllSeasonContact
- Hankook Kinergy 4S2
