Moving to the Dark Side... after 6 Z4’s

Picking up a Sprint Blue TTS Quattro roadster later today. 2 owners from new... I have my hair dryer & tongs ready :D

We were looking for 4 seaters, but neither of us could get excited about any of them and didn’t want to risk an old M3.

Partner happy driving a TT as shorter bonnet than a Z4 and driving position is a little more upright also.

It’s mechanically great, but needs a little TLC with roof cleaning, body work etc.

:worthless: :D

Yeah, ok, school boy error on my part... I’ve been on this forum long enough and I should have known better

I’ll post one up later when I pick it up

Was sitting beside one the exact same in traffic and the colour is very nice.

Said to my OH, who is a hairdresser, what do you think of that, she said it’s not chunky enough so you’re safe, you don’t need your hairdryer and tongs as it’s obviously not just a hairdressers car

This is of course the same person who won’t drive the Zed as she says it frightens her and she prefers getting driven around

So still searching for a 'Fun-Car' then. :poke: :D :D

The insurers seem to think a mapped TTS is a lot of fun, mapping an E89 added £10 to the annual premium, mapping a TTS is an extra £70!....

But then I’m led to believe a mapped TTS is a bit of a monster through the bend’s.... not just in a straight line

Good choice. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Could definitely be tempted by one of these.

Loved my TTS , bit thirsty though, i struggled to get 20 mpg from mine

Same driving my 35is does 25...and yes, its a sportscar, heavy right foot is required

Excellent

Did you have it remapped?

Picking up in around an hour, alloys need a referb so going to send the Mrs out for a blast in it before getting them done

Nice choice  i was out with a few others recently in mine thrashing it around the back roads for around 140 miles & when i landed home it was on 26.5mpg , easy does it the numbers soon rise over 30mpg & mine is the 2.5T so id expect better numbers for a TTS .
Definitely worth the remap & ideally remove the secondary cats :)
Still no regrets on my switch , ive heard all the rwd V fwd/quattro sh7ite  the TTRS is doing all & more that i want from it :driving: .
Now wheels you say

Thanks Andy,

Going to stick with the original wheels... at least for now.

It needs disks and pads soon, a thorough clean and detail, and a little bit of very minor bodywork (the odd scuff and scrape) but drives superbly.

The Mrs has been driving it already and loves it, she’s more excited than I am (which is nice :D )

Great cars! I really enjoyed owning mine... I prefer driving the both the Z4 and S2000, but as a daily with a bit of fun I think you'd struggle to find much better if you want the coupe shape for the money! Wish I'd bought the 'RS, though

Nothing wrong with a TT - I looked at a TTRS before I bought the Z4, great cars all round - love the colour it is where I would have gone on a TT

The main thing is that SWMBO is able to drive and enjoy it - nothing else matter right now.

I am sure with your detailing skills it will be looking a $1m before the weekend is over, just the wheels then which is £300 so nothing major

It was a very good price, miles below the budget we had set ourselves, very happy with it  :driving:

It looks good mate - my mate has a standard 2.0 SLine with the digital dash which was very nice.

I an sure you will have some fun with it - what have the girls said?

I used to have a mk2 3.2 v6 TT, not as pretty as the Z4 and the engine noise isn't comparable, but those TTS and TTRS models have much more usable performance than the RWD Z4 - especially in the rainy UK. Excellent interiors too, I'm sure you won't regret it

I do love the TT convertible and the TTS is an itch I’d love to scratch, lovely example, have fun
