Trossachs Run/Meet - Sunday 15th October 2017

I'll start a new thread rather than lead this astray and we can decide on an area around who shows interest....how's that sound??

I've sent you that PM Jim.

Thanks...tried to add my name to your list on 1st post but I'm assuming only you can do that.....so could you do the honours please.

The reason people, including myself, don't post too much info on here is that anyone can read it,including local police. Has been known. So why advertise where a bunch of sports cars are going to be,lol.

Anyone COULD indeed read it...but why would it be of ANY interest to them to even be on a random car forum....there must be thousands of car forums!!
What is it that......"has been known"

Not sure why you've picked this thread to debate this, can I suggest you start a seperate one if you want to continue the debate and leave this one free for those that want to attend!
As this is a run I'm organising I'M choosing not to make the route public but I'm happy to give anyone a brief idea of the places we'll visit, just drop me a message if you really need to know![/quote]

Hey,where did all this come from Rich?

I was only explaining to Highlander why it isn't a good idea to put full meet info on an open ,public forum.

Jim obviously doesn't want to go on my" mystery tour", haha

For Police to look on the net regards Car Meets, bikers meets, etc and police them accordingly....Increased presence.

OK,I get that.......very sceptical,but I get it.
I read a thread on pistonheads a few years ago about an organised run in Scotland...doubt I'd be able to find it but take my word it was farcical.....got very graphic with descriptions of driving styles,etc,etc.........all a bit childish in the end.In fact if I remember correctly I think a fairly well known car racer(possibly retired now) participated on the day.......he quickly backed away from this shambles
I think we're a fairly "under the radar" forum and tend to favour scenic/less busy roads for the bulk of a day out so hopefully don't draw attention to ourselves
I have the UK eurovision song contest score on my licence ATM.......and intend keeping it that way.

Newbie alert. I'd be interested. Never been to a "meet". Hope it's not like the silly max power shows that used to happen. I'm a bit past that now.

It's more like a get together,go for an enjoyable drive, with lunch in between and 1 or 2 toilet/comfort short stops :D

Will add you to the list Sgr74
Don't worry you'll have no problem keeping up with some of the folk going!

Well interesting day!
Took our usual route up to Aberfoyle then over Dukes Pass but drive spoiled by a cycling event!
Decent drive from Kilmahog to Killen, not much traffic, unusual for this stretch!
Taking our normal road towards Loch Tay we then took a detour North on the single track road towards Lochan Na Lairidge, what fantastic scenery!
Also tried another new route from Kenmore to Amulree, a road I'd read about a few times but was a bit disappointed and don't think I'll take it again!
From Amulree to Crieff via the Sma Glen was pretty much traffic free and we enjoyed our usual good pace, love this road!

Sounds like a good one....I have been busy in the house and out in the garden working,so have not had much time to get out
Though I did do a wee 20-30minute loop near me,to get the z out for the first time ina few weeks :driving:

Look forward to the meets getting under way,and good thing you got out to enjoy some nice weather

Sounds as if it it was a full day.

Any additions to last years route?

Left home about 11 and got home about 5:30 so pretty near full day.
I'm wishing we'd left a bit earlier in the morning, might have missed the cyclists and could has stopped a bit more often!

I'm tempted to add the road up past the dam and Ben Lawyers, scenery was superb but I'm a bit unsure about taking a dozen + Zeds down single track roads for about 20 miles, traffic wasn't an issue, we only had to use passing places a couple of times, might try and get another couple of trips back there just to be sure!

Some photos from a couple of mile stretch!
