Hi Liam....
Major is used for for light work.. Its being sold now, thats why it was being cleaned, greased and a few cosmetic touches were being done. There is another Major,Ford 5000 and a grey Ferguson around the other side of the barn.
The Z4M R against the Z4C debate....
Its an old and well documented argument..... If you would like my take on on it then it all depends what you want out of your motoring.
The Z4MR is an absolute weapon, its hard to think of a car what will give you a better buzz when the sun is out and the S54 is singing away. Downsides are running costs..Fuel,insurance,maintenance and tax are all a bit of a bite out of you..Also,and it pains me a little to say it,it does look like a normal Z4 to everyone but the initiated...Just not special enough..
I got a good offer for mine,so i sold it...I wasnt really looking to get back into Z ownership but a lovely coupe popped up...lol..
The Z4C is different again... Suprisingly frugal and cheap to run, mine gets comments and admiring looks wherever it goes.. Downsides for me are its not really quick enough.....thats it..
If budget allows i would buy a Z4MC.....It has enough kudos factor to be different, but also has enough speed to carry off the looks. Whether the running costs would get on my/your nerves after a while would have to be seen.. The sub 20mpg,£500 a year to tax certainly puts a blight on ownership.. Oh,insurance was £475 for me and missus on the M,this years renewal on the coupe is £223...
For me.....On a lovely day the Z4MR wins hands down on the coupe, its just a superb feeling when all the factors align, its what buying a fast roadster is all about.
But for the rest of the year,a Z4MC would be my choice........Until the running costs got on my wick...Then we would end up with the compromise which is the Z4C 3.0si....lol..
Im currently thinking of selling my coupe and buy a Z4MC,there are a few around that are nice.. Imola with champagne is my pick of the bunch...
Oh..here is a couple of snaps of the old ferguson..
