By retaining clips, I mean that for OEM calipers, on the piston side pad it has a little clip which goes into the centre of the piston to keep the pad from moving/rattling in the caliper. Some after market pads do not have this clip ( for example CLs and Pagid yellows) so can be prone to rattling.
You wouldn't have this on an after-market BBK set up...
BTW - CLs require no special bedding in... a definite plus in my book
