Are those the Raybestos ST45s? I've got a set, they're mega! Pedal feel is very sharp but incredibly consistent right from cold, and you can just lean on them so hard. Very impressed. One thing I had been told though is to ensure they are dry stored. If left wet or damp the moisture can get into the compound and oxidise it, and if bad enough they can supposedly fall apart next time used hard...

I've had mine a few years (admittedly life has got in the way of trackdays for me too), I just swap them in for trackdays and swap them out again afterwards.

i WANT a set, have you got a contact please? Do they properly sweep the rotor face as some of them are a far bit smaller pad contact.

I didn't realise you were so close, it only took me 30 mins to get their, times wise it didn't get that serious but i will say i had a go at the turbo S in the videos and mullered it.... i got stuck in traffic and then he got me at the chicance before the straight, i could get the power down and he went , but up to that point, cornered, breaking and the straights he could not get past.

Malc buck is your man off the m3 cutters forum - he does/did sell the part worn pads off the btcc cars for not much money.... However.... I think btcc changed approach on consumables (reducing amount of stuff like discs and pads teams can go through per race weekend), so there are far fewer knocking around - and they're not cheap new....!

do they fit the cp5575 1010 caliper as is or need t shaved down? what about the rears?

They fit my CP5575 calipers direct fit. They have had the anti rattle clips cut off so they do clatter a bit but it doesn't bother me!

Rears I'm using pagid rsl29s. I run tc fully off though because as has been said before elsewhere the tc is shite and just munches through rear pads if you have it left on.

3 hour detailing session and she's back to pristine .....

Loaded up INPA - I think it's a coolant temp sensor that caused the limp mode... So I'll get that changed, good opportunity to change to coolant as well. It's at its 4 year cycle.

Creaky seat now sorted also , nothing more than a bolt retorq

I’ve got a set of ex-BTCC control pads in mine that I got through a contact of TomK. Unfortunately, I’ve not really had a chance to test them in anger yet because life is keeping me away from the track at the moment.
Tyre-wise I’m using Nankang AR-1. Like the NS-2R they’re fairly inexpensive but they perform as well as many of the big name track tyres. They seem to tolerate high temps and multiple heat cycles far better than the NS 2R, which is especially important with the track temperatures here.

Yep, mine are RayBestos ST45. I’ve a set of Project Mu H21 on a shelf in my garage too. When I bought them, Malc said the Project Mu pads generally last longer - I’ve had them a few years now and they’re still in the box, so I suppose in a way he’s right!

Malc was my source too.
They fitted my CP5575 calipers perfectly, but they had seen a BTCC race already, so they were slightly worn. I think they start life at 18mm, so 1mm too thick for our calipers.
He didn’t have anything suitable for our rear calipers when I got mine, but it was a while ago now. I use Pagid RSL29, the same as Ed.

Hopefully it’s just a faulty sensor, although I’m suspicious that the running with exhaust bungs might be a cause.

I wish you were closer so I could get you to make my car look as good as yours!*

*and to finally meet face to face, of course :D

id LOVE to give your car some of the good treatment.... In other news, i think ive sourced a front and rear set of BTCC pads. ive booked another one in 6 weeks     if the contact comes through ill share the details here, seems like a great guy.

Edit ; got a set of ST45s and mintex f4r for the rear. all EX BTCC and SUPER cheap....

You should have said you were booked in for a trackday Byron, I'd have tried to pop by, I'm only half an hour or so from donny! Glad to hear you had a good one, shame about the limp mode though, keep us all posted on what the codes are? What sort of times were you getting before the issues?

Those exhaust bungs have always worried me, especially on fi setups - to my mind it just significantly increases the heat buildup. I'd rather a better silenced exhaust than shoving a huge restriction in it and then placing the engine under significant stress on track. Just me though

Also stupid question re tyres - were you keeping a careful eye on pressures and adjusting them regularly? That can have a massive effect on prolonging life of the tyres and extending the time you can drive them hard before they overheat. Sorry if that's teaching you to suck eggs :P

Let me know if you fancy a meet up at some point dude, be nice to compare how your seat setup feels compared to mine too

R.E tyre i did keep an eye on them but they just didn't inspire confidence after a couple of laps, ill finish them off and replace in due course. Would love to meet up somewhere inbetween us if that works for you, maybe have a beer and chat about the cars , im around next week evenings if that works for you?? D

Excellent! Even with your extra power, they should perform brilliantly. I’ll be interested to see how you find the front / rear balance with that combination.
If you contact is happy, please share his details.

Loving the interior Beedub. What pedals are those?

i had them made and then imported them from the usa, they have custom ///M logos etched into them! very very cool! plus they are winged to allow easier heel and toe.

guys ill edit up the video and post here...... its NOT great however, very slow as i couldn't rev the car out due to being black flagged once already.... i would say circa 8 red flags, the limp mode, it was my best outing , i felt well and truely hampered, one of the most frustrating experiences on the track i think ive ever had, but..... cant win em all!!
