It's always a tough one ,selling a new car to car enthusiasts.As a breed we want the biggest bang for our buck so we'll look at a £ 30k new car and immediately look at what we could get on the second hand market for that money. We tend to have champagne tastes with beer incomes when it comes to our motors,we always want that piece of exotica we can't afford, so lust after it on the 2nd hand market. I'd love a really nice 911 Turbo,BUT, I'd need the mother of all bank loans to afford it and realistically couldn't afford to run it either.Doesn't stop me talking about them of wanting them.On the track, the GT86 was matching my Z4 speeds down craner curves and wasn't anywhere near as much of a handful as it did it either.Also, I don't think it's expensive, look how much you can spec a RR evoque to , @£50k, and that's only a freelander in a posh frock.Think, nearly 200 break, very low weight, lower COG than a Boxter,4 seats,ideal weight distribution, very sweet handling,even sweeter steering,perfect driving position,40 mpg if you don't boot it too much,5 year warranty,affordable servicing,good resuduals,guranteed reliability,good dealer network,PLUS a load of factory approved ( Toyota Racing Developments) goodies coming to a dealer soon to make it look really sexy. Trying to persuade Mrs bigshurv to have one instead of her Yaris.Would keep the Z though.
I have read a lot of things about the engine being very ordinary & it not having much torque...just goes to show its not worth reading about cars it's better to just get behind the wheel to see for yourself, I must admit when I look at the specs it doesn't really get my juices flowing, but respect it as a RWD fun car
