Toyota GR Yaris

After abit of moaning they've changed my order to pearl white.... which apparently was a cancelled order otherwise i wouldn't have got it.... ( not sure how true that is . it was always close between the red and the pearl white but..... every since my old pearl R5 turbo..... ive always wanted another car in that colour and i couldn't ignore this chance, feels like a homage to the car i loved the most and wished i never sold. Put simply red was gorgeous but.... the pearl white speaks to my soul.
I am thinking of selling my r5 gtt to fund the purchase of on one these

Just got back from the dealer..... In torn between the pearl white and pearl red ... anyway I'm stuck with the red one now so I'm not sure why I'm pondering it.

Interior is suitably shite. Can't wait to have some extended time with this.

Just an FYI, the rear bumper looks 100x worse on the white ones, especially the area behind the rear wheel. It's just a huge great space full of nothing.

I think the window outside my workplace needs cleaning

I had a quick look at a white one of these yesterday when I was picking up my zed from the detailers. It looked much better in the flesh.

really not sure on this! that would have been expensive as well!

Hey Beedub, long time no speak! (not on here much these days).

Just saw this thread whilst browsing and thought I'd have a nose, as I picked mine up on the 1st March (arrived back in Jan as I placed the order last summer around July-time). You won't be disappointed with the car (not that you're doubting that!) nor with the red, best colour IMO! Some shots and a video of mine after being detailed (https://www.instagram.com/p/CMHeJVOhdcX/)

Mine is now my local runabout and getting used daily for trips to the shops and running the kids to school etc. Its great. I've done a couple of early morning drives with it, and late night runs to get pizza through the B-roads and lanes near me (Surrey/Sussex border) and you can be an absolute hooligan in the car, and it just hangs on to the road for dear life! It will absolutely shame a Z4M with a lot less effort (of course, that doesn't make it "better" but certainly as or more capable).

One thing I did spot, you're thinking of taking it on a European trip. Whilst I think you could have some fun with these on the passes, its not something I'd relish doing mileage in. Suspension is on the firm side (but bearable) but probably more to the point, the road/tyre noise in the cabin over 60mph is pretty loud. Not an issue for me given what I use the car for and the journeys I do in it, but I wouldn't relish a long European trip in one! That said, it would be worth it on the twisties. I'd still take the Z4M for the passes though.

Oh, and exhaust is definitely a must. I had a custom system built on mine. Definitely a big improvement to the soundtrack!!

You've probably mentioned it already but when do you expect to receive it? Will you have it for the summer, or towards the back-end of the year?

Not sure why people get hung up on this being "Β£35k for a Yaris". Putting a Yaris badge on a 911 wouldn't make it any less enjoyable.

If you enjoy driving above all else, this is probably the perfect car for you. It's nice to have a reminder that driving enjoyment isn't all about 0-60 times and posh brands.

Andy!!! great to see a comment from you brother.

i eventually got it changed for a pearl white so so excited! sadly mine arrives next may... thanks very much for all the advice, i am still yet to drive one properly and in anger so i actually cant really comment on my thoughts but i will get back to the dealership ASAP. i'm going to run it for a while then jump into the lichfield suspension kit, nice turbo back zorst and a good airbox :D :D :D . first thing ill be doing is PPFing the whole car then underside protection.... secondly... drive it till it dies.

I drove the Litchfield test car when my GTR was there for a service. The GR is a very capable car but at low to sensible speeds it is anodyne. If you're trying to go very quickly then the levels of grip + balance are good, it feels very quick through the gears but no doubt it feels quite uninvolving otherwise. I've never driven a stock one so can't compare but if anything I think it would be a good candidate for an all weather track/time attack/hill climb car rather than a buzzy little hot hatch.

Love these, still not seen one on the road though.

Was hoping the GR86 would be as mental but it doesn’t look like it will be.

I saw a white one today for the first time on the road. 8)

I instantly recognised it from all the photos of them I've seen.
