Thanks for the reminder. I do enjoy topgear but (controversially) i get p'eed off with the lack of car based sections in it these days....too much in the way of caravans and trucks for me.

Yes it was funny, but what a load of sh** this series has been, and for the finale they each buy £100 bikes that chavs ride around fields with !.......vietnam looked awesome, however it seems as though they are finally running out of ideas !....(never thought i would say that)

easty027, you could be right about this one. I always used to watch it on Sundays but the last couple of times I have Sky+'d it and watched it later on, and for the last series I only watched them when I had nothing much better to do (sometimes weeks after), but never really looked forward to watching it that much.

Between Clarkson and all his DVDs and the other two doing various different TV shows, maybe a bit of time off the air might be beneficial :idunno:

Enteraining?...........possibly but the programme is totally fixed and once you realise the 'rot' sets in.Do you honestly think they rode anywhere near 700 miles on those bikes? Loved the scenery and the look of the country, but the 3 stoogies were at best.....pathetic.

Sorry guys but i just have to say this. I think Clarkson and his anti American nonsense is ridiculous. The man is a complete ass and should remain in Brittan. Contrary to the hateful nonsense that he spews at every opportunity all Americans are not stupid, fat and rude. And while America does not make cars that handle it does do something that England can not. It makes cars that last. It makes cars that don't require repairs every ten minutes. And before someone says it's just show business or just a joke, I say rubbish. I recently counted five insulting comments in one show. All directed at Americans. He is a jerk. And sadly he never considers how he colors the opinions of Americans towards British ex-pat living in the states. Speaking for myself I'll watch fifth gear. And Clarkson get fucked.

Its a little difficult to "lighten up" when you look at a body of work that bills itself as automotive and is used by Mr. Clarkson as his personal plateform to demonstrate his hatred for all things American. While filming here he refered to Detroit as a city created by the devil. Filmed overweight peoples mid-section. Scowled at the ugliness of Reno. Funny? Perhaps I should lighten up. If he comes to N.Y., stands at the site of the trade center and proclaims "Oh look Bin Laden missed a bit" Would that be funny.

IMHO, good comedy is controversial, by definition. he's gone too far a couple of times recently, & been told off for it, but this argument probably goes wider..

No that certainly wouldnt be funny- surprised you came up with it! I dont mean any offence I like top gear and can see it for what it is. Clarkson is a characture of himself- he is the typical grumpy old man thats what makes him funny- politically correct or not!

100% correct IMO, the guy's just living up to the reputation/character he's created for himself and plays it out. He knows exactly what he's doing when he says these comments.


I recorded last night's episode because I was out - I can't wait to watch it now and see what all the fuss is about
