today i...

Today I went for a drive;
Carlisle to Alston, along the Pennines to the Durham border, back to Alston and down to Hexham (to visit HHC garage - Ginetta G40R looks great). Not a sole on the open roads, 110 stress free miles for no apparent reason.

Renewed my car insurance.
21 years old, fully comp on my 3.0 for £717.62
Can't complain too much at that

4 different comparison sites all gave wildly different prices for the same companies, which were all much cheaper then my renewal price from my current insurer.
How long before you have comparison sites for comparison sites...

Saw something heading toward my head and ducked, heard a loud bang.

Saw my broken windscreen and cried.........

Failed my MOT.

Two new lower front arms for me to fit this weekend. Yipee.

Hopefully the super robust Meylee HD stuff won't let me down.

I went to work, took on a wasp nests with a booklet on research methodology, not realising that the wasps I was killing were part of a bigger picture and that wasps release a pheromone upon death which warns the other wasps and makes them more aggressive.
Ended up with more wasps coming out of the air vents, hysterical students, wasp gunk all over my booklet, a video of 'a woman possessed hunting wasps' taken on a camera phone and eventually wasp terminator being called who discovered three nests in the air ducts.
And they say teaching is boring.....

That I am afraid was due to their unrealistic expectations rather than any promises I made !

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk.

Fitted my £3 iPhone mount to the Brodit holder, fits perfect! Also tried out the Bluetooth receiver, sounds perfect, no lag, excellent bit of kit.
I've added a thin foam rectangle to cover the centre fixings so it's a bit neater. Before pic only:

Relocated for temporary fit of the Bluetooth unit with a custom made cover to allow access to the power button.

Did the peanut oil dance. It works great - only used about three drops per wing mirror and they look like new. So what's that? £0.0014?!

Think I got captured by a "Safety" camera. :(

After a very gentle drive down from Inveraray in my Disco with cruise on at a steady 65 down the M74 on a real no hurry ride back home, I went trickling past a heavy - as I wasn't making much headway and a as a car was catching me quite quickly, I gave it a boot to get past and let the fella thro - I got up to 80 ish - Then I noticed the white van with the opened black side hatch.

I suppose I've been very lucky - I will be my first in 48 years but its going to be a nervous two weeks watching my letter box.
