Replaced my car battery this morning as it was starting to struggle with the colder mornings

You dont know what a struggle to start is until you've tried a 1970's Ford on a cold damp morning when you're late for work!!

I'll take your word for it Ronk :(

Took the S-max in for its MOT (and knowing the headlamp washers needed a repair)

Two tyres, 4 discs, 4 sets of pads, a washer pump and £1100 later and it's still not back home.

Still, at least they waived their £15 courtesy car charge...

Bloody ell!!

Got the Zed its first MOT and new fuel pump, paid for a BMW warranty and taxed two cars One of them at the stupid rate. :(

That's made a dent in her Christmas present money!

Had a weird and sad day. A friend's child was stillborn. That really hasn't sunk in yet, I can't find the words... On top of that we had to have one of the cats put to sleep as she was so ill. On the way home I was asked whether I'd be interested in a new job (in the same company) and I just sent off the paperwork to spend a month in the US learning to be a basic Yoga teacher next year.

I think I need a drink and get my head straightened out.

Sorry to hear this, Stuart. My sister lost 3 children stillborn before finally having a healthy girl - she now has two daughters. It was a very difficult time for the parents, thoughts are with your friend and their partner. Also losing a pet isn't easy - they do give so much, so loyal, and it is heartbreaking when they go.

Regarding the job, only you will know if it suits and is something you want to do - The yoga teacher sounds pretty different thought - how long have you been doing yoga?

...cleaned out the roof drains for the first time. They were pretty clear - just a little debris. B&Q flexible hose pipe fits exactly into the bottom hole. It will be a lot quicker next time round! :)

Thanks Mark

My friends have family rallying around, but what can you do or say. They named him, and it's heartbreaking.

The cat was ill for a while, and we were expecting this but it's still odd not having her around in the morning.

The job thing is my last boss trying to get me to move into his new org, we'll talk next week.

Yoga? A few months but it's really got to me. I'm going to class 2 or 3 times a week and going for a teachers qualification will get me to a level I'll be happy with. I have nearly 3 months holiday through our sabbatical program next year, so this is a good use of a month of it. An exotic holiday and a road trip in the zed will take up the rest :)

That's pretty cool - not California by any chance ? If so, a road trip up the PCH would be something to add to the itinerary :)

Picked up these bad boys...

If it's not raining when I get up I'll be fitting them in the morning :D

Sorry about all the bad news Stuart. I wouldn't know what to say either! As for the cat I know that feeling of not having them around that will get easier.

Looks like gun Dave hope you get nice weather.

I spent 10 hrs working on my garage. Feel knackered but very happy with all I have done.

Fitted the Diablo's. bit of a ball ache getting some of the rusty nuts off but all good fun.

Yep there is a bit of a drone at about 1600-2000rpm but it just means you have to drive faster :D

The wife recons it sounds like my bike with the straight through race exhaust, which in my book can only be a good thing. Let's hope the neighbours agree when I leave for work at 6.30
